As great as Connery was as Bond, his gunbarrels are, IMO, the weakest of the series. He seems very off-balance and uncomfortable. I would have kept the Simmons gunbarrel for Connery's films. His motion was smoother and there was something cool about his face being in the shadows, not quite beiing able to make him out.
@jksonny I agree with you that Simmons' gunbarrel is better, but trust me, if they could've kep it then they would've. The standard video format changed in between Goldfinger and Thunderball, and so they had no choice. That's also the reason why they changed the Moore gunbarrel to an inferior one.
@m3dion It's too bad they had to change it. Plus, Connery doesn't strike me as the type of guy that would particularly enjoy a day of gunbarrel filming.
i think connery only ever filmed one gunbarrel sequence which was used in You only live twice and diamonds are forever. the earlier gunbarrels were actually stuntman Bob simmons.
@Russell230870 It appears in Thunderball too, but other than that, you're right. The gunbarrel sequence used in Dr. No, From Russia With Love and Goldfinger starrs Bob Simmons and not Connery.
@charlieiscool1000 All the gunbarrels in this video are Connery-gunbarrels. It IS Sean Connery. In Dr. No, FRWL and Goldfinger, it's Bob Simmons, but in this video, it is noone else than Sean Connery.
They should have stuck with Simmons for the Connery movies or changed the way he posed in the gunbarrels. Connery is a big guy and he looks awkward trying to quickly bend to a knee and hold the pose. It would be interesting to see Connery in the Moore gunbarrel pose. I think that would have worked better for him.
It's such an interesting little way to begin a movie isn't it? No other movies are like that... quite clever addition which adds so much... wonder where the inspiration for it came from?
............... Forgot to read the title? This says Sean Connery's Gunbarrels, not all James Bond Gunbarrels. I've also uploaded Bob Simmons', OHMSS, Moore's, Dalton's, Brosnan's and CR.
I am offended by this nonsense! I am the SPY! You ants have turned me into a bafoon with your stupid James Bond character! Please stop this terrible 007 garbage by deleting your videos! They ruin my perfect image

I think the best is You Only Live Twice. He shots like his codenumber - and the wonderful music is so amazing in his gunbarrel.

onmask123 1 year ago
@onmask123 I understand why you asked that, but the truth is, those three gunbarrels starred Connery's stuntman; Bob Simmons.

@m3dion what
onmask123 1 year ago
@m3dion Why do they need a stuntman for walking, turning around, and shooting a gun?

I always liked Connery's gunbarrel - even if it was a little strange looking.

From waht i heard, Bob Simmons was the stuntman for connery. But now its a tradition for the Actor playing bond to do the gunbarrel.
