  • I'm an Arsenal fan and I hate Tottenham, but a referee laughing over a player's injury is unacceptable.

  • was at the game, great memories but sadness from gazzas injury,he got better & better during that season, was never the same after this,he would have gone on to be the best player in the world, flawed genius.

  • Not even a yellow card! Shocking.

  • As a life long spud, i still remember this game like it happened yesterday. On reflection, how big was this game?

That tackle defined gascoigne's career - how would it of all turned out if he hadn't made that challenge? It's fair to say, many think he would of had a far better career without that injury, but would we have the memories of Euro 96, probably gazza's and england's most memorable highlights?

Gazza aside, it's fair to say this game shaped the memories of pearce, clough and walker

  • i actually remember watching this game. Forest was my second team. was a good game. :)

  • If its all too much for you then why are you wasteing your time replying moron! Milford was in the North Londoners pocket! Come on Arsenal! After all Forest started them by lending their kit to them when they were Woolwich Arsenal!

  • So brilliant, so nostalgic, This was when the FA cup meant something.

  • As a Forest fan I hate this prick.

  • Walking around after doing his cruciates, now that is a hardman

  • ROGER MILFORD = WANKER Never forgive! I was there and I will never forgive you!NFFC!

  • @wembley05 He disallowed a perfectly good Lineker goal which was onside. Selective memory havn't we?

  • @Mikez4 Had Milford done his job correctly and sent Gascoigne off it is doubtful that Spurs with 10 men would have created the chance in the first place! You seem to have lost sight of that my friend!

  • @wembley05 Haha youre wrong, Gazza wasnt on the field regardless of wether he was sent off or not so why wouldnt 10 man Spurs score without him? Youre forgetting that even though it was a shit Spurs team compared to now, it was still better than Forest's team, 10 or 11 men. Youre referring to an event that you cannot determine, Milford made 2 major mistakes in favour of each team which is fair, and the best team won.

  • @Mikez4 You are deluded man! Answer the Question! If Spurs could score without him then why not could Forest could score without him! Wake up hippy! You are looking through rose coloured glasses! Paul Stewart would have not won you that game if Gascoigne had of been sent off! WHY BECAUSE HE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ON THE PITCH! Wake up my friend!

  • @wembley05 What nonsense are you talking about what could have happened in 91? Read and think about the crap you just wrote! Paul Stewart started the match so he would have been there regardless. Spurs won. Debate over.

  • @Mikez4 OK Who came on for Gascoigne? Please tell me! Also answer why you b*astards were not reduced to 10 men! Bet you can't answer that! Unless Roger had a big nose and a plain brown paper envelope! As did your chairman when he accused Sir Brian over the Teddy incident! Typical North London twats!

  • @wembley05 Nayim came on. Idiot. Dont waste my time further.

  • @Mikez4 Sorry Mike - It was Paul Stewart who was sub & to be fair - Milford should have booked Gazza off in the 3rd minute for kicking Garry Parker in the throat, then the Charles booking would have been his 2nd - then Stewart wouldn't have scored the equalizer - but in the end decisions went both ways - Forest's goal should have been dis-allowed for Hodge fouling the wall (what a huge push) to create the gap for Pearce's shot.

  • @Bhoysown check ur facts mate,mike is right :)

  • Comment removed

  • @wembley05 ur wrong mate,i was there & nayim came on,he played very well too, paul stewart started the match,i already knew this, but just remember, google is ur friend :)

  • the player who did the tackle is injured :D funny

  • i know it's gazza blah blah blah, but he deserved it for that tackle.

  • Annoys me when Forest fans bang on about the Gazza tackle like they would have won if he'd been sent off.

    Lets establish some facts..

Pearce goal should have been disallowed due to the foul by Lee Glover on Gary Mabbutt in the wall..

Spurs had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside..

Mark Crossley should have been sent off for the professional foul on Lineker for the penalty.....which he then saved

Had the ref got everything right the final score would have been 4-0 to Spurs & 10-a-side

  • So sad, what happened to Gazza. He's the Michael Jackson of Football. He's had a strange life!

  • Why Roger never sen't the twat off I will never know! Roger I will punch you in the face! You should have sent Gascoine off for the first tackle let alone the second! I will never forgive you, you WANKER! fuck you milford!

  • 0:59 Watch Roy Keane da mad cunt!

  • what was he doing? He's like a 12 year old girl with reactions like that!

  • Typical rangers fan.

  • @OrangeFemineBastards

Knock knock. What's that? Strathclyde police at your door under the new sectarian laws.

  • Booked? Nowadays he would've been off before he got up.

  • deserved it.

  • Hahaha, that'd be a 4 match ban if that happened today!

7, if it was Dani Alves being tackled.

  • @rockingrugger What would Ian Beale have to say about this?

  • "should it be a yellow card," wtf?!

  • just shows how the game has evolved. Commentators were debating whether he deserved a yellow as it was his 2nd offence. In todays game it would be a straight red, no question.

  • Is that Sheringham pushing the Spurs wall on the far right to let Pearce's strike through?

  • @simonburkeisable Think it was Lee Glover shoving Mabbutt out the way, don't think Sheringham had joined us yet. Should probably have been given as a foul really, but Pearce would've taken his head off if he hadn't got out the way.

  • 100% respect to Gary Charles' reaction here....unlike what half of the players in the spanish league and some in the EPL do now.....

  • he would probably have been sent off in todays game but this was the best part of 20 years ago.

Also refreshing to see a tackle like that and not have the referee sourrounded by 15 players all telling him what to do.

  • i hear a lawnmower

  • Actually Gazza should have been sent off for a horrendous tackle earlier on in that game.

  • He didn't even get a yellow!!???!!?

  • Christ, imagine if someone did that to Busquets. There'd be like twenty-five minutes' injury time.

  • @davesmith7891 hahahahahhahahhaha ya!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @davesmith7891 Just shows how much the game has changed, look how quickly Charles got up after what was a horrific foul and then look at the pratts of modern day football.

  • Gazza ruptures a knee ligament and tries to run it off!!! Todays footballers = pussies.

  • The old Pearce kick, Hodge push routine. They scored loads with that double act and not one should have stood.

  • @fez41 Bollocks...for a start, Steve Hodge was on the bench at the time. And Gary Mabbutt's a strapping centre back, he shouldn't have even let Lee Glover into the wall, never mind outmuscle him.

  • @MrAvalanche64 Hands up for my mistake (I did watch this game live, as I have done them all since 1974 but attention to detail lacking on my part 20 yrs after the event) However, in the absence of Hodge, Lee Glover stepped into the breach seamlessly to play his part in the PearcekickHodgepush routine. You're right, the strapping Mabbut should never have been 'out muscled'. He wasn't, he was fouled.

  • @fez41 Well said. I remember Hodge doing it in a Littlewoods Cup semi in '89 against my beloved Sky Blues - Great free kick from Pearcey of course, but it's a bit easier when you carve a massive hole in the wall.

  • STUPID GEORDIE CUNT

  • Top job by Motson and the co-commentator to completely ignore the sickening angle that Gazza's knee turned to instead potter on about discipline. Even when he wasn't a pensioner, he was a senile twat.

  • I can't understand what prevoked Gaza to be so reckless that day.

  • @TheGaryLineker - A little thing known as adrenaline!

  • @Olliguer Sure, but there where 21 other players on the pitch that day, bursting with adrenaline, but did they see red?.....nope.

  • Dunno why Forest fans are banging on about gazza's foul like it was the turning point, when Spurs had a perfectly good goal disallowed & Forest should have had Crossley sent off for Lineker's pen...

1 goal up against a team falling apart & without their best player for 105 mins & you couldn't see the game out.....The better team on the day won it, chaps....

  • F.U.C.K the foul, just look at psycho's free kick, tell you one thing, i wouldnt get in way of that!!!

  • Look at the Forest player in the Spurs wall, he takes out Mabbutt who standing at the end of the wall. This make the space for the goal. Well worked free kick or blatant

foul ? It all depends on your prediliction I suppose

  • and gazza was never the same player after that.

  • In 1991 would a player be sent off . I really do not know. This should have been FORESTS day and Brian Clough's Ultimate showdown. I will always be a NOTTINGHAM FOREST FAN.

The best thig about Forest is they NEVER ive in , Without SIR BRIAN things would have never been the same.

One other parting mention here . Des Walker was the best defender arguably in the WORLD back then and if you look close , He got to that ball be it an own goal or not HE GOT THERE . Sadly it ruined his career .

  • Gazza himself admitted he should have been sent off.

Forest would have and should have won

  • he deserved it, shouldnt go in like a mad man in the first 10 minutes and take out a quality player.

  • wtf?This is a red card!

  • The reason why they didn't make more of that because cloughie ensured his own players dont get involved with refs

  • A full recap upload would be nice. I used to have a VHS of the whole match, but that box went somewhere distant during a post-graduate house move sometime in the late 90s, along with VHS copies of England-Cameroon, 12 Monkeys, star wars, a couple of half-burnt candles, some incense, 1/2 pack of stale Parliaments, and books on post-colonial Nigerian economic development.

If anyone has any of them... please upload.

  • @Pillzbug A good torrent site will have what you are looking for.

  • @Pillzbug

I have the full England/Cameroon match from Italia '90 on VHS tape in storage.

How would one get my VHS tapes into digital format for upload onto YouTube?

  • lol the first tackle was savage that gazza made he would of been red carded these days gazza or no gazza

  • they scored from it n everything hahaha did not work out all that well for the wife beater

  • stuart pearces hair hahahaha

  • Gazza was an idiot....the whole point of scything an opponent is that you injure him not yourself....what a moron. 8D

  • To be honest guys boths teams lost that day, Forest bottled it on the big day and lost the game.

Spurs lost Gazza who was just about the best player in the english game at the time.

I would have loved to seen Forest and Gazza at thre best that day to give us a final to remember.

  • haha gazza u fat fuck.what u up to now?smackhead

  • @combridge12

    u twat

  • @rory27 fuck u stickin up for ur fellow smackheads.clown yeeeeeha

  • Fuck off, you don;t know what you're talking about you wanker.

I bet you weren't even born in 1991 - so fuck off spouting rubbish you twat

  • @uranoba

I was born in 81...hence the name....I was 9 when i watched this game....what's the matter with u bitter forest fans? U had the cup virtually handed 2 u on a plate & u lost....Forest bottled the 91 final big time...how can u even think different? did u even watch the game u silly northern mug?

  • Glen Hoddle ruined his career by not taking him to France 98, instead prefaring to take some garbage who didnt play. And by the way, why do England managers insist on taking 3 keepers? Why the piss do we need 3 keepers for 7 matches??? If a cunt gets injurered your allowed emergency call ups anyway! What pissin cunts!

  • I watched an interview referee Roger Milford gave some years later on the incident. He confessed that he should have sent Gazza off, but the fact he got injured as well and the delay made him not do it.

Scant consolation for Forest, because Pearce scored from the resulting frre-kick, 1-0 up against 10 men, Forest would have been odds-on to win.

Worse still, Gazza's replacement Nayim, would become the hero of the Final.

No wonder Cloughie remarked to his assistant, he felt Forest were done in.

  • Let's be absolutely honest tho...Tottenham deserved to win the match...they had a perfectly good goal disallowed in the first half...pearce's goal should have been disallowed b'coz of a foul by lee glover on mabbut in the wall....Spurs should have won 4-0 (if lineker had scored the pen) if u think about it....

I agree tho that Milford had a shocking game...

  • How can you say Tottenhgam deserved to won that match you twat - Gazza should have been sent off pure and simple first the first tackle on Parker nevermind his stupid effort on Charles.

If Gazza had been sent off, Forest would have took Tottenham apart and destroyed them.

As it was they got a replacement come on, which changed their formation and they went on WRONGLY to win the Cup that year - absolute travesty

    Those foreskinless yid wankers!

  • Forest's goal should have been disallowed, spurs had a goal wrongly ruled out for offside, we had our best player at the time stretchered off & missed most of the game, Forest were a top 6 team that year, spurs were in financial peril at the time......

The odds were stacked against tottenham that year, & were nearly cheated out of it by the referee....Don't be dim....Forest were just shit that day......Spurs fully deserved 2 win the cup..

  • @ uranoba

    watch this

    /watch?v=FWmSjsAHd0g&feature=related

Forest had all the luck going for them...& still lost......Tottenham were deserved winners of the 1991 FA cup, admit it......Brian Clough's man management that day was appalling...just sat on his arse during extra time, didn't even give his team a team talk...U can't complain about Gazza, He wasn't even on the pitch for 105 mins....

  • Don't talk like a complete twat - I was there and saw what happened that day. Tottenham should have been reduced to 10 men - anyone that knows anything avbout football can see that Gazza was an absolute disgrace that day, and should have been sent off

With Spurs down to 10 men, Forest would have pissed all over them

Face the fact syou muppet, Forest were cheated out of the Cup that year - because it had to be 'Gazza's Final' what a fat Geordie fucking drugged up mental wanker

  • @uranoba

So what if u were there, the whole country saw the match.....Face it, u lot had 105 mins to beat an average team without their best player, & with the refereee helping u out & u still lost....ur chatting shit....Notts Forest froze on the big occasion....I doubt u would have won even if we were down to ten men.

  • You talk like a compete muppet. Think about you knob. If Gazza had been sent AS HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN - EVERYONE KNOWS THIS. Tottenham would have had just 10 ment for the remaiining 70 minutes. Forest would have just taken you apart. As it was, they got a full replacement and cheated their way to ther cup

Now fuck off, you yid wanker

  • @uranoba

Pearce's goal should have been chalked off, Lineker's effort should have stood but was wrongly given offside....I'm tired of repeating this.....U lot had a very good opportunity to beat us 11 men or 10.....U silly inbred peasant.

  • @supahdupahguy81 I doubt you'd have been born had your parents known you'd turn out like this. Forest would have walked it.

  • @iampostcode2009

Forest did not turn up that day....pundit's will concur with this...even Nigel Clough admitted forest had been woeful in that game....Had Gazza been on the pitch, u lot would have been blown away....

  • Listen to the commentary - every person in ground agreed that Gazza should have been sent off for the 2 challenges he made - Even the referee admitted he got it wrong by not booking him for both challenges - Gazza was off his mental head, HENCE - he should have been sent off. There's no point in you saying Forest didn't turn up that day etc The fact is if Gazza had been sent off as he should have been. Forest would have pissed all over Tottenham - THAT IS THE PLAIN FACT OF THE MATTER - twat!

  • @uranoba

For the last time, Forest goal should have been disallowed b'coz of a foul in the wall,

Spurs had a perfectly good goal ruled out WRONGLY for offside, Mark Crossley should have been sent off following the foul he committed on Lineker when he was through on goal, he went on to save the penalty..We were an average team without Gazza, u lot SHOULD have won the match given the circumstances, but Forest bottled it, pure & simple..They couldn't match the fighting spirit that spurs showed

  • /watch?v=pnrNFSnr0WQ&feature=related

Watch & observe at 4.00 of that video where Nigel Clough admits "Forest played shit"...

  • You Stupid calims mean nothing - The forst instant, Gazza should have been given a red card - you would have then played with 10 men, and would have been destroyed, no what what shit you spout - get over it you prick

  • @uranoba

Wow, ur fuckin dim......U are the one who should get over it...crying about a refereeing decision in a football match from nearly 20 years ago, as if it would have made a difference....

There's nothing stupid about my "calims" (i assume u mean claims), seeing as they're not claims at all but documented, televised fact....Try watching some of the related vids on the side & refresh ur memory...

  • Answer this one question - Should Gazza have been sent off bearing in mind the 2 CHALLENGES he made - yes or no?

Irrespective of what else happened, Whether Pearce would have scored or not, whether Crossley would have brought down Lineker is all irrelevant?

The fact that Gazza wasn'tsent off changed the whole essence of the match AND THAT IS FACT!

  • @uranoba

Yes, Gazza probably should have been sent off....MY point is that Forest had a number of bad refereeing decisions actually GO in their favor....Had the ref got everything right, the score would have been 4-0 to spurs & both teams reduced to 10 men...the decision not to send Gazza off had ultimately little effect on the match..

Spurs raised their game after gazza went off..they had to..the way forest played after they scored, i reckon they would have struggled against 9 men...

  • Well then, if Gazza had got sent off, everything else then is irrelevant, because the WHOLE game would have been different with Spurs down to 10 men.

And in my opinion and many other taking that into consideration, Forest would have pissed all over Tottenham

  • what a tool

  • Gazza was virtually psychotic in this game, he was a danger to everybody, a real dark moment in football seeing him descend into chaos like this..

  • he knew before the game that it was his last game for spurs and just wanted to do well so badly he went over the top, give the guy a break

  • Terrible challenge but sad to see him injured so. They say his career never recovered, but to be fair five years later he had the tournament of his life in Euro 96.

  • I would have stuck that card right up his arse...tosser

  • I dont remember Gazza wondering around like that after the tackle before falling and THEN coming off. Bloody hell! Then again i didnt see the game in its entirety, just highlights. Still, i thought he was immediately stretchered off.

  • Gazza should have gone after the first tackle...

  • Love the mullet on the Ref.

  • Gascoigne was demented in that match. His assault on Garry Parker in the first minute could have seen him yellow carded. Gary Charles must have knees like a brick wall.

  • Looking at the tackle it seems Gazza made contact with Gary's thigh area though, hence Gary's ability to continue.

  • when he got stretchered off, i remember thinking it was gonna be difficult for spurs to realistically come back. but from what i remember, we actually played better..

  • serves gascoigne right, i can't believe they aren't making more of that to be honest, it was a horrific tackle!

  • @adamcook86 It wasn't intended...

  • @adamcook86 Because those were the days when foreign puffs weren't around to roll on the floor after they've been hit by the wind :P

  • Roy Keane was a baby then...

  • classic match

  • Gazza probably should have been sent off for that challenge anyway . . .
