Yes gloves are worn by field hands to prevent callouses. Don't be fooled by the latex gloves, ever seen how easily a needle can go through one of those. My friend the lab tech is a very aware and focus. He knows me, my medical history, even personal habits. He has been drawing since before you were born.
lighten up magic, antigina, the tech works in a clinic in a small
town. he is a personal friend, I watched him wash up before the draw. I am a 59 yr old male, not retarded at all antigina. The tech knows everything about me
and I am sure that he has been at his job, without error, longer than you have been on earth.
to revent from callouses???WTH are you talking about..its to protect from spreading any sort of fluids from one to another. And SENSING the need should be EVERYTIME, no matter what. The double wiping was a bit much, its was running down his arm..
"Senses the need"????? WTF? PPE is not JUST about the phleb's protection retard - it's also about the patients. It's stupid crap like this that get's infections spread and I end up drawing blood cultures X3 in the hospital. Thanks - really because it's not like I don't have 25 other draws to get done in the next hour...oh wait, yeah, I do.
Oh, I thought they were to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Like say if the patient had HIV, and you had a cut on your hand, and it came in contact with the patient's blood. Does that matter, or are callouses the main concern?
