  • AHH,Messerschmitt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • das waren noch flugzeuge (;

  • Sorry, hattest recht. Ist doch ne Yak 11 (Moose).

    War schon spät am Abend...

  • The Pilot

  • glotz mal richtig, is ne spit und ne la. keine ahnung oder was

  • Congratulations..amazing..touch my heart..i love P-51. Have a nice day and a good life.

  • damn... must be such a.. beautiful feeling to fly one of those beautys.

  • P-51 Mustang = Greatest aircraft ever

  • Bf 109K "Kurfürst" = Greatest

had a stronger engine = more thrust and lift...and thats what you need if u wanna been a dogfight. top speed: 740km/h!!

    Daimler Benz V12 with the two-stage super-charger:)

  • win*

  • well i wouldnt say that P51 Mustangs were the best in DOGFIGHTING. they were definately some of the best planes that could fly at extremely high altitudes and have very good fuel consumption. but as a BOMBER ESCORT i would say that these planes were the best. dogfighting.....probably not. you cant just say that some plane is the greatest because they are all the greatest in their own little ways. like the A6M Zero. best turn fighter in the Pacific, but it was like a flying paper kite.

  • Kurfurst 740Km/H?? hahaha imposible but ok only flew a few and only fw ta 152 could reach those speed but ok

P51 mustang H =780 km/h the fastest piston engine aircraft of WWII ; )could be in europe if usa needed..

P51 mustang the cadillac of the sky...the german aircraft destroyer...

  • Wow! what will we do with these discovery channel historians, oh yes a kurfurst could reach 740 km/h and completely outclimb the mustang at an astonishing 5800 feet per min.

I dont think your precious cadillac of the skies with its four 50 cals(mark 111 mustang) could match it. The me 109 kurfurst had a 30mm cannon and two 13mm (51 caliber) machine guns.

  • I think you mean the experimental four bladed propeller Kurfursts. I've never heard of a production model K-4 pull 740. And the Mustangs past the B type had six .50 cals. With incendiary rounds, they were enough to take out light fighters like the 109 without much fuss. Canons are good if you're aiming to bring down the big heavy guys, like B-17's. Plus the 30mm jammed alot. The true advantage of the K-4 is climb, which really does put most fighters to shame, Mustang included.

  • First off you dont think isnt a good answer and yes there were production Kurfurts that could go even faster then 740kph although most went about 740kph with C3 fuel. I wouldnt call a bf 109 a light fighter since the daimler engine could absorb far more punishment then merlins and the airframe itself was heavily armoured truly it still took a severe hit from 50 cals to down a 109 while one 30mm shell was more often enough PS I hope you don't watch dogfights! british p51mark111 had four 50 cals

  • A British MkIII is the same thing as a B type. The D type and the H had six. The Kurfursts, which you cleverly didn't assign a sub model number, were not K-4's since the production model K-4 clocked in at 715. Late models were being made with props that could push 740, but this was not common. As far as durability, the ruggedness of the 109's engine must have counted for little given the death toll by the end of the war. I suggest playing the "out produced and under equipped" card now.

  • Also, punctuation. Have you heard of it?

  • Im not gonna argue with you on this one just so you know I am a history major, and the whole allied record 'thing' is pretty funny at best doesnt take much leg work to shoot it full of holes. The 109 k-4 was actually rated at 710 kph at 6000 meters it was the later models that reached higher speeds,(K10 K14 etc) k-4s equiped with C3 fuel did much better. As you stated rate of climb is the key, the spit mark 14 did nearly 5800 fpm slightly less then the 109 but they were always close.

  • Ok. At least I got you to site the specific models you were referring to. The K-10 and 14 could reach those speeds mentioned, but I would not consider them "production models" in light of the fact that they were introduced too late to be delivered and fielded in very significant numbers. And don't get confused. I have a great respect for the 109. I just wasn't about to let a claim of 740kph slide without making it clear that it was not common to encounter this in the field.

  • I would agree with you on that one s~ this discussion has proved one thing, both late p-51H series and the bf 109 K14 were not availabe in ready numbers at the end of the war. The production models for each aircraft were at the 440 mph area infact the spitIX was faster then both-448 mph and in production. FW 190s and modified P-47s were the fastest clawing at the 500 mph barrier.

  • ME-262 the most technologic aircraft of ww2. I would do a kill for to fly that one.

  • wow, I didn't know that being a history major made you the expert on aerodynamics!

  • ME 109!

  • Most beautiful sound in the world is that 51 flying around. Most beautiful sight most of the time too.

Oh and ich kein spreche guten Deutsch. Leid.

  • As I've said before, in my humble opinion, from favorite to least favorite, BF109, F4 Corair, P47 Thundbolt, Spitfire, Mustang.

  • only 1 company made the 109, however BF-109 and ME-109 are both acceptable nomenclatures.

just like the Bf-110 and Me-110, some manufacturer, just different model numbers.

  • BF only means Bayrische Flugzeugwerke (Bavarian Planefactories) and Me stands for Messerschmitt and that was the name of the engenieur.

  • @Chaser2666 machines by messerschmitt are normally called me. the 109 is called bf

  • um its called a me-109 also

more than one company made them during the war

  • um........ dieternern...its called a BF-109...

  • love the sounds

  • the early spits had merlins, the late spits had griffons, much more powerful

  • me-109,the yak,p51 and the spitfire were all fantastic. the p51 with the merlin engine is my favorite, just fantastic looking and sounding

  • this spitfire dont have a merlin , it has a griffon engine , its a littlebit customize(sorry for bad english)

  • the p51 had the merlin

  • Hahnweide Oldtimer Meeting?

  • I think the sound of those machines are erotic!

  • wow that sound is so beatyful

  • I swear the sound of a Mustang is orgasmic.

  • I'd agree completely with you.

  • wow that stupid prick commentator guy killed the noise of the best plane on there. Why can't people just shut up and appreciate a work of art

  • yes i hate it when these guys are talking because i want the hear the sound and not his voice!!!

  • That Yak has a very unique sound to it

  • im not saying thats not a spitfire, but in a magazine article i saw that exact airplane, contra-prop SEAfire. just throwing that out there, but anyway very beautiful sounding airplanes

  • yes this spitfire has not a merlin engine, it has a Griffon engine with this special propeller

  • WOW! beautiful sound of these motors...daimler benz & rolls royce!

  • woot woot, p-51 kicks ass!!

  • Ha thats fake 109!! it has hispano suiza engine!

  • no no no it has a original DB605 engine but the plane is based on a hispano from spain!

  • I think other countrys should make lots of replicas of ww2 planes

  • yes i think so too ,there are ony 4 me109´s who are flying world wide.

  • thats pretty pathetic only 4 0_0

  • Even less for the P-38.

  • Towards the end u hear the man say Spitfire so i think there is one in here :D

  • Yes that is a spitfire Mk 19

  • Nice. Love the sound of the inline engines, especially the P51s Packard-Merlin

  • what was that Russian aircraft ?

    A Lagg ? a Mig ?

  • That aircraft was a Yak 11

  • Yakolev 11 Moose. I thought it was a trainer.

  • yes it is a trainer with a 700 PS engine, but they used it not only as a trainer.
