  • Heart warming and very inspirational!

  • I must compliment all the families partaking in this they are showing the whole world what huge strength lies in the little person, this is an awesome display of pure COURAGE!!! a shinning example to the rest of all mankind, keep up the fantastic work and keep those video's comming, each one is a teaching milestone !

This video is so encouraging, it hive the most important thing to the normal person, HOPE !!!!!!!!!!!

  • You guys are awesome, you are teaching people how to take care of themselves, true charity.

  • I would seriously like to help you guys. I live in Raytown, MO; I'm currently overseas working on a development project in Vietnam. I would love to make connections locally to help progress these efforts, I've been grinding away intently at research into duckweed & alternative energy. I would like to help you guys; I've got some prototypes ready to go for a number of things & some research I'm currently doing.

  • AMEN!

  • I just shared your video with my granddaughter, and told her that THIS is what I hope for her future. Lykins is only a neighborhood away from the neighborhood I grew up in and I can't believe you're doing this amazing thing. I wish...

  • I'm close to 300 lbs, teach martial arts, and am generally considered a tough guy, but I swear your video brought tears to my eyes. I love the walk you guys are doing and will be using many of your systems in the earth bag project we are building in Mexico. You ever want to come down for a vacation after our houses are built just let me know. Peace.

  • We absolutely LOVE what you are doing!!

So inspiring! thank you and keep doing what you do!!

  • thing of it about growing you own food now the cop are staring to give people big finds for it now

  • bio gas is cool you could have your own power plant with that

  • that duck weed is cool you can feed fish with it

  • This is really fucking cool.

  • The bit about duckweed sounded very interesting. Does anybody have some figures on energy and protein content? How does it compare with other forms of feed?

  • @YourXavier I don't have any figures but the fish and eggs would easily supply enough protein. The energy would be harder to come by but oats and such are easy to grow so i wouldn't be surprised if they had a small oat farm running too for complex carbs.

  • @OwnageEngine

Thanks for the answer, but I was actually referring to the quality of feed for the fish :)

  • Together we can create A United World

  • You guys are truly blessed...may your gardens always be green...

  • What a great project! Congrats and much much success!!! Keep sharing.. and spreading..

Love and light 4 u all!

  • wow! just amazing

  • Thanks to People like You guys U don't need to die to go to heaven U can live in heaven...

    Good Video thanks a lot

  • Really impressed with the accomplishments you have achieved. Thanks for sharing your vision and inspiring me to take more action.

  • Very well done, power to your elbow! You are all pending on the Saint List.

  • inshallah i could coordinate and cooperate and collaborate with you once i have come back to the Philippines... where i came from.. i am temporarily living and working in saudi arabia and had been doing aquaponics since beginning of this year.. and i hope, inshallah that your work is continuing... God bless you

  • Love what you guys are up to! I want to be doing something similar, maybe not so much "in the hood" although I respect that, but something like the "enclosed loop" of farming, nat gas, fish etc..

  • i add a attic fan to cool my house down

  • So glad I found you!

  • Great! Except for the part where you're raising bzillions of fish in a tiny area (that seems really cruel to me). In every other regard, big kudos to you for doing your best to better the world.

  • Awesome. Gives me hope for our society and our species.

  • Do you guys accept donations for something like modular planter boxes or raised beds? We'd like to help out. We really love what you're doing.

  • @Naturalyards We would put them to great use! Thanks so much for the offer!

  • Keep up the good work guys! If you haven't yet, look into Permaculture, it is a system of patterns from nature that create an infinitely sustainable food production system. Google "permaculture design certificate courses" in your state and see what you come up with. Cheers!

  • this is awesome! i've been thinking about bringing a garden to every hood and you guys are already taking massive action. I love it! People often say "eating healthy is too expensive" and therre is no arguing that buying juice cost more than soda so I'm loving how you all are making it self- sustainable and taking it off the grid. so umm...can you guys come plant my grad

  • bravo!!..much respect to canada

  • This is SO wonderful! Yes I got a tear in my eye :) I moved to Austin only 2 weeks ago and it was just yesterday that I found myself driving through the east side where efforts are being made but it's still very much a run down area; mostly minority, and in stark contrast with the downtown right across the highway. I felt a need to get in there and help make it better, and what y'all are doing would be just perfect! Thank you for doing what you're doing!!!

  • shared:) ( Via Joel Mariano; FB)

a bit too many fish in a small space -speaking in the "fish favour"- (my opinion) - but I guess this is a minor prblm. that easily could be solved

    Very inspirational video/ideas:)

    Thanks, frm Denmark/Norway

  • Totally awesome.........way to go!!! Be the change!!!

  • @1dutchgrl thanks!

  • OK, I think this is a very interesting experiment, particularly in the USA which needs to revive its run down and economically depressed areas. I think there will be a lot to learn from the 20 families partaking in this experiment.

There is a philosophical concept called the 'broken window' effect. If there is a broken window in a run down area and this is not fixed, it encourages more windows to be broken. If it is repaired, there is not this same response. Keep up the good work!!

  • @ivankinsman We see the reality of the broken window effect play out everyday. The little things go so far, for good or bad. We are loving it.

  • Inspiring!!! You all all in my prayers. keep sharing. This is visual hope something for others to cling to.

  • Is there any negative side effects of feeding the worms frozen food? Will it lower the temperature of the colony itself? Or does the food thaw before the worms get to it?
