What I want to know is: why do all theists ask the question in the exact same way. I have literally heard at least ten theists ask, verbatim, "What is the proof and evidence that atheism is accurate and correct?" I've heard WLC ask it that way (those exact words), shockofgod (with those exact words), and then lots of theists that I talk with on YouTube. Surely it's not just because WLC started it?

I often wonder if he knows how fallacious this lie of reasoning is, or if he is simply willfully ignorant on the subject. I simply can't imagine how this line of reasoning can not be rooted in dishonesty on his part.

Faith is one thing I never understood. Here is a story of a man that fell off a ship, and the ship left him behind, he prayed and prayed for god to help him. There is no proof that God does not exist. There can be no proof. It is logically impossible to prove the non-existence of something. Is that what you wanted to hear? Atheism is simply a rejection of a claim made by others. The burden of proof remains with the person making the claim. I don't know how to make it any simpler. If you can't wrap your mind around a simple concept like burden of proof, you are either deliberately misunderstanding, or you're stupid.

But there is logical proof that a being does not exist with the qualities that are associated with monotheistic gods (Omniscience, omnipotence, omnibenevolence), such as the problem of evil, (wikipedia it), the idea of "Does god have free will" (Think about it, if he does hes not omniscient, if he does not then he is not omnipotent), and the omnipotence paradox.

It sometimes says "without PROOF" but it does not say "without evidence" or "against the evidence." (That's BLIND faith and irrational.) What I want to know is: why do all theists ask the question in the exact same way. I have literally heard at least ten theists ask, verbatim, "What is the proof and evidence that atheism is accurate and correct?" There is no proof that God does not exist. There can be no proof. It is logically impossible to prove the non-existence of something. Is that what you wanted to hear? Atheism is simply a rejection of a claim made by others. The burden of proof remains with the person making the claim. I don't know how to make it any simpler. If you can't wrap your mind around a simple concept like burden of proof, you are either deliberately misunderstanding, or you're stupid.

But there is logical proof that a being does not exist with the qualities that are associated with monotheistic gods (Omniscience, omnipotence, omnibenevolence), such as the problem of evil, (wikipedia it), the idea of "Does god have free will" (Think about it, if he does hes not omniscient, if he does not then he is not omnipotent), and the omnipotence paradox.

It sometimes says "without PROOF" but it does not say "without evidence" or "against the evidence." (That's BLIND faith and irrational.) But since science itself does not provide absolute proof, faith is required. Miracles are possible if God exists and to claim otherwise is illogical and circular. (cont.)

@bestvalue The keyword is COMPLETE trust without proof. Remember that proof is defined as a preponderance of evidence. So faith is a complete conviction without evidence. Science HAS evidence, so faith is neither required -nor desired- and the methods of science demand the exclusion of faith. Miracles are possibly ONLY when a genie of some sort can make the impossible possible.

@AronRa Christians are confused as to the meaning of faith and evidence because their bible tells them (hebrews 11:1) that Faith is an actual substance, AND that it is "the evidence of things not seen" . By that screwed up logic, if I have "faith" that no god exists, that counts as evidence against it's existance...massive logic fail on their part.

if miracles are possible, then your definition of a miracle must be "a rare occurrence." if this is so, how small must the chance of any given thing happening be in order to be considered a miracle?? also, if miracles are possible, then god must NOT be the only one who can perform them, correct?? by your own definition, miracles are not proof of god.

MIne is that you can't say miracles are impossible unless you rule out a priori God's existence - circular reasoning. But since we have good scientific and logical evidence for God, miracles ARE possible.

1. The Kalam Cosmological Argument
2. The Anthropic Principle (fine-tuning)
3. The Moral argument
All pretty well-irrefutable - although many have tried and failed. But I won't be distracted from my original point which was that to claim miracles are impossible is irrational and begs the question. I'm done here.

Fine Tuned unevers argument ignores the fact the big bang was an expansion of matter not an explosion it also don't change the fact terrestrial evidence supports macroevolution.

@bestvalue dude,I think it's pretty clear what he means by miracles being impossible. a miracle IS necessarily impossible,without divine intervention,and since there aren't any doccumented cases of divine intervention,OR miracles that can be verified,or that there is anything divine TO intervene in the first place,a miracle by definition,is impossible,as far as any person who is being honest can tell

I hate it when atheists use that trick where " oh Christianity is bad cuz a lot of Christians do bad things." Anyone can say they r a christian, but most are not, they're hypocritical bastards. It says in the Bible that not many will make it into Heaven, but yet most the world is Christian. So pay attention to what the religion is about and stop using examples of terrible people who say that they're part of that religion.

Evolution is population mechanics, most creationists lump all of the staggering scientific fields against their literal interpretation and label it as "Evolution" in an attempt to make it look less significant. They don't think it goes against their view of god, they think it goes against their literal interpretation of specific scripture.
