  • have you ever noticed you can discern approximate times in history purely by the way people physically looked(facially)? down to the decade.

  • @gmaureen

    Not just Dracula, all vampires.

  • Oh well,Bela you let me down.I thought you were going to do your "turn into a bat" trick and fly around the kitchen!

  • Bela was, and is, the only Dracula. No one will ever top him in that role..

  • AWWW,this is a wonderful view of a devoted father!!!!

  • Is that Donald Rumsfeld at the start?

    Could explain a lot!!

  • love the way how he is fatherly, he seem so be an very good father !

i wish i could marry him!

  • then why is it in ed wood he says he has no one, if he had a son

  • @rosine101 There are many inacurracies in that film, he also actually had a fifth wife at the time of his death, doesn't show that in the film either..

  • @Raven5677v2 thanks for enlightening me,guess there should be a law against, depicting people wrongly in films

  • Great old projector film of the Lugosi family.

We enjoyed it & thanks for posting. :)

  • The young woman on the right was Bela's 4th wife at the dinner table footage, Lillian Arch . She was 19 when they wed and he was 51. Due to type casting Bela spent a good part of his career near poverty. She gave birth to their only son Bela G. a california attorney today.

  • wow thats great

  • Boy I would love to get a DVD of these for my 40 odd year collection of Bela.

    Superb actor..

  • When was this?

  • where's eddy wood?

  • superb color footage of a misunderstood actor thge great BELA LUGOSI. this horror sci fi historian wh knew many of these grand actors of the old horror films can tell you this video was circa 1940 with belas family. forget the drugs go past his troubled life, this is DRACULA in real life s decent kind man mistreated by hollywood and many others. bt today he is still beloved and well known. long may his films endured. BELA LUGOSI a giant of horror a gentle human being. i should know,TOMK

  • This silent color home movie footage of Mr.Lugosi and I guess..his family? Was this taken during a Thanksgiving Dinner?

  • Although he had his problems with drugs..Mr.Lugosi did

eat veggies, fruits and he drank Hungarian wines..hopefully..within moderation.

  • I loved this video. It actually proves how terrible they paid him for his acting in some of the best movies of all time. His home is no mansion

  • How very true... Universal were true bastards amongst a sea of many others. But this footage shows the descent humility of the great man who is my hero.

I deeply think he moreover was happy just to be working overall than what his salary consisted of. But its a damn shame that he was cheated so very often... Peace and may the legacy and spirit of Bela Lugosi live wihtin all of his fans forevermore. ;-)

  • New WolfMan? I didnt hear that???

    when is it being released?

  • Very sweet video, and nice toys for the 1930's, too! His mom Lillian was a very pretty woman. I saw them both on Mike Douglas in the 70's. It isn't easy living with an addict/alcoholic, and I'm sure it's left some scars. Still, you can see how fiercely he loves his father. It's difficult to lose a parent so young. I understand Lugosi Jr. has some daughters and a grandson. I saw something with Jr. saying how his grandson's friends in kindergarten knew who his grandfather was, and about Dracula.

  • Ohhh, that was so cute when Jr. kissed his dad. It's nice to see the villan, as a normal guy! Where'd you get this footage?

  • thats so odd to see dracula with his son playing at his feet but it was so cute wen he kissed him

  • That is so neat! I wish there had been sound...

  • ik me too!

  • wow wow wow wow. now how long did it take u to find this rare footage?

  • They weren't millionaires, by the looks of things they were lower middle-class. I guess that Bela was a better actor than the roles he got in low-budget films like "The Bat". I doubt that he was the way he was portrayed by Martin Landau, in the movie "Ed Wood".

  • Kind of makes me feel invasive. So interesting seeing this footage - in color, with his family. All that footage being taken of Bela Jr - who is now a well known lawyer in LA.

  • Dont let Bela EAT THE BABY!!!

  • Where did you obtain this incredibly rare video?

  • LEGENDARY...... it's the correct word to qualify this HUGE, unique, charming 5 ***** STARS !!!! Obviously one of the most TALENTED all-time movie star , in the field of the Bogarts, the Robinson !!!!!! He ' still got a cult following worlwide .... I am impressed by the way many young kids know him and love him ! I don't know why such character (his behaviour, his heart KING-SIZE) seem to be from another time and don't exist anymore ???? I am may be wrong ????We all got BELA ! we are very lucky!

  • Everyone loves Bela Lugosi. I use to be so afraid of him when I was little. But he was the best dracula ever! Is his son still alive? Does his son act? Does he have grandchildren? Eery looking into his real life.

  • Bela's son is alive and well. He is a lawyer.

  • In this scenes we can see how Bela was a very funny man, a very sweet man...

    A gentleman !

  • They don't make actors like Lugosi anymore. I hope the new THE WOLF MAN revives interest in the classic horror genre of the 1930's and 40's.

  • Great clip. Lugosi was not a vampire...or a druggie...he was a man. Like You and me.

  • Great talent, incomparabale charisma. Lugosi will never be forgotten.

  • Oh my God! unbelievable.....I love him....

  • wonderful!

  • BEAUTIFUL!! LUGOSI IS GOD!!
