  • what is this goddamn crap

  • @ChestFish Well, thanks for watching anyhow!

  • Beautiful! I just wish there wasn't so much background noise from the video. :(

  • @smurfycake Thanks for watching.

  • im a mandolin palyer, and the noise from that is stuning

  • @118animal7 Thanks for watching. I sure would like to see some some of your mandolin videos.

  • I apologize, I was to too much of a newbie to notice you were playing with a chromatic dulcimer. I actually did not know there even was such a thing. My lessons have been from Steve Eulberg and Rich Fuchs and they play the "traditional?" dulcimer.

  • @TheHawgGuy Hey no need to apologize, it's an easy thing to miss. I hope that your enjoying your dulcimer experience, it has added much enrichment to my life.

  • That is interesting as I have learned to play it in both DAa and DAd with a Capo. I'll have to try it your way.

  • @TheHawgGuy Are you playing a chromatic, because this does have an accidental in it the way I play it.

  • What tuning are you using?

  • @TheHawgGuy Thanks for watching. I'm tuned DAd.

  • thanks for watching i guess XD?

    Nice done anyway :)

  • Pretty, I wonder how much these instruments are :)

  • @tsukiomilover Thanks for watching.

  • Beautiful!!

  • @sandysue40ify Thanks for watching.

  • is that a chromatic? can i ask where you got it? :)

  • @SleepingMarsupial Thanks for watching. Yes it is chromatic. This dulcimer was made by Kurt Simmerman.

  • Well done! I was not familiar with this instrument before now and you sounded great. I like the hammered dulcimer but this was new to me and very pleasant. Thank you for sharing.

  • @9r9a9z9i9e9l9 Thanks for watching.

  • Oh WOW!!!!!!! Thank you for posting these! My wife and I both play Standard DADD Walnut McSPaddens, but never had any music or training to see how other people played. We had a guy show us the basics and just went from there, I do the leads and she plays harmonies, we think with watching your videos we will be able to add a LOT to our porch time playing.

    THANKS!

  • @scottishchieftan Thanks for watching.

  • You play awesome. Thanks for putting your video on You Tube for those of us who want to learn to play. I have a dulcimer but unforunately there is no one around my area giving lessons. I live in Eastern Arkansas. :-(

  • @afa14523 Thanks for watching.

  • Oh, and what's the difference between a chromatic and a diatonic? Which one is best for a beginner? Thanks for posting this lovely video, you play amazing :) best regards from Norway

  • @mariannethor Thanks for watching.

  • What is the sound board of that dulcimer made of? Also good job.

  • @DavidTheDefender Thanks for watching. The sound board is Spanish cedar with mahogany back and sides.

  • Play something blazing-fast, like thrash metal.

  • @Wodenhelm Thanks for watching. If I could play blazing fast I would. ;)

  • Dude, what is up with your crazy tan? Were you wearing a fingerless glove in some sort or parade or something? And why your hand all wet and shiny and stuff? That is gross. Did you get burned and apply some salve or something? BTW, loved the music. Listening to your music inspired me to take up the dulcimer, which was "instrumental" in helping me get over the death of my cats.

  • @whscroquet Thanks for watching. The crazy tan is from bike riding. The shine is just from the way the light was reflecting off my hand. I'm glad that I inspired you to take up the dulcimer, and sorry to hear that your cat died.

  • Another brilliant sounding performance of one of my fav christmas hymns.

    Jane

  • @kraney51 Thanks for watching.

  • This instrument has a very sweet tone. With just 4 strings it can make so nice a melody.Great playing skills.I like it.

  • @angelofmusic477 Thanks for watching.

  • Absolutely gorgeous.

  • @spokospokospoko Thanks for watching.

  • Yes.

  • @soiledmcribs Thanks for watching.

  • bravissimo ciao faBIO

  • @fabiosbrizzi Thanks for watching.

  • Lovely playing.

I can tell by your tan lines, you're a serious cyclist.

  • @deezynar Thanks for watching.

    About 10000 miles each year!

  • @cliffcyphers

    That would do it!

    Take care.

  • Hey, This isnt a standard dulcimer is it? It seems to be fretted different to most 4 string mountain dulcimers.

  • @pheel33 Thanks for watching. This dulcimer is chromatic.

  • what is that your playing on and good work on the song

  • @Quentin66630 Thanks for watching. It is a mountain dulcimer.

  • That was truly beautiful! Would like to get to a point where I can play like that!

  • @thoeckel Thanks for watching.

  • @gpstogo1 Thanks for watching. Yes I'm tuned DAd. I only have my arrangement in standard music notation, not tab, but you are welcome to a copy if you would like it.

  • Who made the dulcimer and where did you get it. I amlooking for a new one and that sounded really nice.

  • @Ginnyr46 Thanks for watching. This dulcimer was made by Kurt Simmerman, but he is no longer alive.

  • i'm a newbie with the dulcimer, i come from non stringed instruments like piano, so i'm taking a little time to learn :) I improvised greensleaves but not where you start. what is the tuning you use? I wish I could see clearer the finger positions

  • Thanks for watching. I'm tuned DAd and I'm playing it in the key of E minor.

  • @yidneth piano does have strings

  • wow that is my favorite song and when its played by a 'not so common' instrument, it sounds awesome :)

  • Thanks for watching.

  • Realy realy good!

I play the low whistle, but this is an interesting instrument, too.

    Go on!

    Greetings from Germany,

    Jan

  • Thanks for watching. I watched some of your whistle playing, it is very nice.

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs in the world, I believe and you play it perfectly! I am also going to start playing this, how many and how big difficultys do I have to expect?

    Greetings from Germany

  • Thanks for watching. It's not to difficult if you take it slow and practice, practice, practice.

  • This is really good!

  • Thanks for watching.

  • that is the most beautiful thing I've ever herd. Thank-you and you must be blessed to make such beautiful music.

  • Thanks so much for watching and the kind compliment.

  • 5/5 Great Job

  • Thanks for watching.

  • !!WOW!! That was lovely! You sure can do a lot with DAd when you've got a chromatic. Keep making your videos, I love them.

  • Thanks.

  • Thanks for watching. I'm tuned DAd.
