I apologize, I was to too much of a newbie to notice you were playing with a chromatic dulcimer. I actually did not know there even was such a thing. My lessons have been from Steve Eulberg and Rich Fuchs and they play the "traditional?" dulcimer.
@TheHawgGuy Hey no need to apologize, it's an easy thing to miss. I hope that your enjoying your dulcimer experience, it has added much enrichment to my life.
Well done! I was not familiar with this instrument before now and you sounded great. I like the hammered dulcimer but this was new to me and very pleasant. Thank you for sharing.
Oh WOW!!!!!!! Thank you for posting these! My wife and I both play Standard DADD Walnut McSPaddens, but never had any music or training to see how other people played. We had a guy show us the basics and just went from there, I do the leads and she plays harmonies, we think with watching your videos we will be able to add a LOT to our porch time playing.
You play awesome. Thanks for putting your video on You Tube for those of us who want to learn to play. I have a dulcimer but unforunately there is no one around my area giving lessons. I live in Eastern Arkansas. :-(
Oh, and what's the difference between a chromatic and a diatonic? Which one is best for a beginner? Thanks for posting this lovely video, you play amazing :) best regards from Norway
Incredible!! I wonder if you could help me. I want to buy a mountain dulcimer, but I really have no clue what kind I should get. I really like the sound of your dulcimer though. Does the pattern of the holes matter to the sound? Some have hearts and others have more traditional patterns. Or is it the way you tune it that makes the difference? I really am clueless :p I've been looking for one on ebay, but they all have different name. Appalachian, jumbo cherry, applecreek acd 200k?? Help!!:))
Dude, what is up with your crazy tan? Were you wearing a fingerless glove in some sort or parade or something? And why your hand all wet and shiny and stuff? That is gross. Did you get burned and apply some salve or something? BTW, loved the music. Listening to your music inspired me to take up the dulcimer, which was "instrumental" in helping me get over the death of my cats.
@whscroquet Thanks for watching. The crazy tan is from bike riding. The shine is just from the way the light was reflecting off my hand. I'm glad that I inspired you to take up the dulcimer, and sorry to hear that your cat died.
@gpstogo1 Thanks for watching. Yes I'm tuned DAd. I only have my arrangement in standard music notation, not tab, but you are welcome to a copy if you would like it.
i'm a newbie with the dulcimer, i come from non stringed instruments like piano, so i'm taking a little time to learn :) I improvised greensleaves but not where you start. what is the tuning you use? I wish I could see clearer the finger positions
This is one of the most beautiful songs in the world, I believe and you play it perfectly! I am also going to start playing this, how many and how big difficultys do I have to expect?

That is interesting as I have learned to play it in both DAa and DAd with a Capo. I'll have to try it your way.
