Wow. This is quite an amazing station. When i went up to DC a few months ago, this was on my list of things i had to see. it was worth it. also got lucky by ending up on the wrong metro train and ended up behind the station, with a birds eye view of the terminal tracks. I was lucky enough to see an Acela, a few MARC trains departing, and a HP-8 making a light engine move.
Not a terminal, but rather a station. Amtrak mainly uses it but Maryland's commuter rail MARC, northern Virginia's commuter rail VRE (short for Virginia Railway Express) and Washington DC's commuter subway/rail also use this station.
