It really does make me sad that we're STILL fighting for equal rights. I don't really understand~ because to me it seems so simple. How could you deny someone the right to marry or adopt a child because of their sexual orientation??

because their sexual orientation by nature prevents them from fostering a child by natural means, so i suppose some right wings think its against what was 'intended.' As for the marriage thing, no idea

because it's not a balanced enviroment for a child!!!!! in this case she's the biological grandma so it's different then some strangers who are homosexual taking a child and raising him/her without a mom or dad but two moms or two dads. do what you want but leave the children alone, don't give them 50% they deserve 100%. who are you to decide for these kids to be in an alternative lifestyle withou giving them a choice. every kid wants a mom and dad

i think it's absurd for a single parent (straight) to adopt also because adopting is not to just enrich the life of the parent but mainly the life of the child. i'm a mom, i was a single mom, not by choice but becasue the father has problems. i never had any more children after leaving the yahoo,  i got married to a great guy, now we have 2 kids and they are very happy with momy and daddy

Mason, but plenty of single people adopt. It's legal for single parents to adopt in all 50 states. While most people would probably like to parent with a partner, that's not in the cards for everyone, and if a single man or woman wants to become a parent, what's wrong with adopting? There are so many children in the world who need homes. Just look at the American foster care system, let alone all the kids in orphanages in foreign countries.

Also, single heterosexual parents are not treated the same way as gay parents. It's not even close. All the prejudice is reserved for gay couples, and all the witch-hunt type ballot measures and laws are reserved for them, too.
