  • how much is it?

  • Fantastische Leistung. Schönes Instrument.

  • ich dachte am anfang das is ne Blockflöte :P

  • WOW, so ergreifend, tönt ein wenig wie ein Taragot

  • Where can one find an edition of this piece?

  • Greetings from Belarus! Execution very was pleasant! For a long time wanted to tell: share please, notes)

  • I think these instruments don't overblow so wel (if at all)l like actual Clarinet's (invented by Denners or the circle), Calumeaux is earlier folk instrument , refined later by Denners (like this model) and some others.

  • The chalumeau was used in the late Baroque period in the 17th century. I think it's where we got the modern clarinet.

  • oooo que instrumento antiguo es?? suena precioso!!

  • can you tell me where I could get a copy of this suite?

  • Great! Who publishes this?

  • i am a clarinetist, and i would like buy this instrument, because is incredible.

Someone know where we can buy this kind of instruments?¿?¿

  • @anacrusa86 Many makers such as Guntram Wolf, Rudolf Tutz, Agnes Gueroult, Peter van der Poel who will produce a beautiful chalumeau for you. Then there are factory set up instruments by Moeck...

  • How great to hear someone getting into this seriously. Wonderful video. As for the negative feedback: squares all!

  • Awesome!

  • Some people like it, this all I can say

  • so cool...its like an ancient clarinet (well it sort of is...lmao) still so amazingly awesome O.O

  • That is amazing. :)

  • Replicas made by G.Wolf (Kronach-Germany)are very nice, I'm honored to own a baroque oboe by G.Wolf.

  • Wonderful ! Thanks for posting.

  • I am a clarinetist and I would love the chance to play one of those

  • Can you tell me something more about the Chalumeaux ? (fingering, is it easy to learn, who makes copies etc.) I wanto to learn to play it !!!

    I'm so gratefull

  • its a copy from Denner (Nürnberg),made by Wolf (Kronach/Germany) this instrument is an early clarinet, fingering very similar to recorder, embouchure is like tenorsaxophone (more relaxed than modern clarinet). Look for info at Wikipedia!

  • @hjfuss And yet the sound is the same as the clarinet. I've sent a suggestion for an experimental performance and/or recording of Beethoven's Sixth with a list of Baroque-Period equivalents to the instrumentation that Beethoven scored for to one Ton Koopman, but haven't heard back from him yet. The List of Baroque Equivalents: One Recorder, Two Baroque Flauti Traversi, Two Baroque Oboes, Two Chalumeaux, Two Dulcians, Two Baroque Horns, Two Baroque Trumpets, Two Serpents, Timpani, and Strings.

  • Excellent!
