I dont its so much about him being a great leader because of it as a great representative of multiculturalism and a spokesperson for Chinese Australians. You cannot learn a language without being forced to learn about a culture too. I see nothing wrong with that, and can totally understand how that would draw in votes from the asian community.

There is some truth in what you are saying, and yes, the west does need to realise the world is changing. My point is that minorities have a great deal of political power in countries in the west.

For the UK, its Islamic migrants who dictate policy to politicians who need every vote to keep their jobs and not their convictions. And this for me, is wrong.

I disagree that minorities are dictating policy, for if they did, the UK would not have gone along with the US in invading and occupying Iraq, for example.

In representative democracies, politicians must represent the views of their constituents-- otherwise, you might as well have dictatorships where powerful politicians can go by their convictions all they want.

Yet again you are right and make a valid point. However, at the time, the majority of the people in the UK, and I'm talking grass roots, working class, did not entirely support the war, nor did they object.

When I talk about minorities dictating policy, I mean to say that this is how it has become, maybe even as a result of the war, which has become extremely unpopular, not because working class people see the UK being involved as wrong or inmoral

Recent news story's in the UK describe the immigration debate as a sensitive issue, I dont understand to whom, and why this can possibly be a sensitive issue, but for immigrants themselves, who now thanks to our weak politicians, who would gladly sacrifice their own culture and history for a vote, are now polling and voting in who gives them what they want.
