When dealing with these 'false' values I find it really useful to count them along with word that have an appropriate number of syllables. In this case, you could use something like geometrical, university, Yugoslavian, etc.

Most drummers seem to overlook those "unnatural" subdivisions and I also find myself in a rather uncomfortable situation when I force myself to playing quintuplets (i.e. I can't be creative in quintuplets). I will definitely spend some time revisiting quintuplets in order to internalize that feel, your lessen was very helpful and inspiring - thanks!
