Eragon was the worst book turned movie. I loved the Books so much, but the movies just sucked so much, it was so terrible, and the funny thing is, in inkheart, resa or the mom is Arya in the eragon movie, and i apsolutely despied her in eragon.
The movie was terrible compared to the book. It never had a happy ending as depicted in the movie (I won't spoil it though) it wouldn't have worked if they wanted to make a sequel, but they probably would've messed up Inkspell too. Overall, I give it two stars
The worst movie adaptation I've seen is Spiderwick. Ehhh.. I loved the books but the movie was very forgettable. Twilight was insanely lame, but I haven't read the book.
I don't even know what was going on in the Eragon movie, the writer must've never read the book or just read a crappy summary cuz that movie was nothing like the book :l
@SCREAMfanatic123 Eragon was NOT a terrible movie, its a heck of a lot better than the book... its taken me like at least 3 years to get to the halfway mark of the first book lol
I'd give it a 9. I thought it was a wonderful movie. A fairy tale brought to our time. And what girl doesn't enjoy watching Brendan Fraser & Paul Bettany. Hehe It won't win any awards but it leaves you feeling great & wishing there was these other dimensions that we read of. :)
The book was an amazingly well write book, but the movie look like all they did was read the title and throw a bunch of shitting sense together! i left the movie it was so bad. Love the book!!
The worst book/movie adaptation I have ever seen in my short 15 years is by far Eragon. The book was amazing and the movie was barely like the book. It was just.... terrible.
If it was up to me I'd say: You are only allowed to make an adaptation of a book to movie once it's prime popularity has passed by ten years. WHY? simple: After ten years, the books that no one is interested in any more where obviously not worth it in the first place. If it was really worth the wait and there is still a steady and large fan base (Lord of the Rings, Jane Austen Novels) the director will have to make a serious effort not to disappoint! :) Everyone wins & less crap on the market.
*lol* how do you know i am taking this from others? i watched eragon and hated it xD that is pretty much all too it and it really doesnt matter if you feel the same way or not ;)
I HATED that movie so much. I was at the press screening, so it was free, and I still felt like something was taken from me. Oh yeah, precious time of my life, that was it. The book was very poorly portrayed because the focus of the movie was all on the action... I hate that ^^ Eragon was the worst Book to Movie adaption I had ever seen.
the Movies are made sloppily and bad. The acting is lame, everything is lame. Even when Eragon has a bunch of great actors such as Jeremy Irons and John Malkovich, the dialogue was lame, the kid was a pretty boy, totally unfit for the role, the chemistry was horrid to nonexistent and the way the story moved along was... I can't even describe.
Worst book adaptation ever: Surely Eragon, though it was nearly a tie between that one and Twilight. Sure, the books are both kinda childish standard fantasy flicks for teens, but I had fun reading them. But every time a movie is made when trying to ride on the success of the books (as was the case with the DaVinci Code too)
uh oh...looks like Brendan Frasier's losing it. The worst adaptation for a movie was not a book but a video game. Silent Hill did not make any sense one bit. i hope the sequel will be better if it gets ever made.
I didn't like the movie since it didn;t follow some of the story good.

@Torreywolf well If they wanted to make a sequel they could somehow turn it into a dream sequence? Idk what I'm saying anymore lol

Actually, the movie was enjoyable. I had read the book and it was great. It stayed somewhat close to the book.

the book was great, the actors were great, the producers manipulated the story.
But books don't always come to life, it's only when you have that silvertongue :D

Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D and Mummy were terrible.
I'm going to avoid this movie at all costs!
On a side note, the worst book adaptation for me was Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban.
