My cats do that when i use a bargain brand of kitty litter. So I would recommend switching the price tag on to whatever brand you're using so they think you're buying them the expensive stuff. But don't make the same mistake i did and leave the supermarket receipt on the counter. Totally busted. Now i got cat piss and shit all over the rug. Serves me right for trying to deceive my little friends. I certainly learned my lesson!!!!

I used to have a kitten just like that one, he too played in his litter (clean only) he would dig little holes everywhere and forget what they were for, finally he would just go wherever. Eventually he learned what the litter box was for.
