Joe is great-his awakening is pure in part because he was not influenced by Big Religion Control-he "became like a child" and his innocence gave way to an inner vision not clouded by ego, scholarship and attempting to promote his way..he simply lived it-in secret-no big deal to him...humility was his Ground and he flew from there...a true mystic.

Much of what he says is similar or exactly the same to the teachings of GI Gurdjieff, look up Fourth Way on Wikipedia. I dont know if he even knows Fourth Way it might just be that it is Truth so everyone finds the same thing. Im sending you a private message by the way.

He may be a student of Mr G...then again, wisdom comes from the same place. In truth, what he is saying is not different from several dozen wisdom traditions. Its very basic.

Joe was a student only of himself, the one-in-a-million seekers who did not have a living teacher (at least that I know of).

Actually, he did speak once of intensely studying Evans-Wentz' books on Tibetan Buddhism and checking with Evans-Wentz (who was apparently a fairly high initiate in one of the Tibetan lineages) with regard to getting it straight. And, yes, I'm certain he immersed himself in the Scriptures and the various esoteric yoga texts, because he quoted from them. Since first posting on this thread, I remembered that he studied Zen under a very eminent Korean master (no, not Seung Sahn).

@hafizullahchishti I thought so because ive studied mainly yoga and learned from many different yogi's in India and the things he says in these videos are very similar to what they say.I know that some spiritual masters become realized without reading any scriptures and they talk from their own experience.
