I actually liked Superman: Doomsday, but I can attest to Justice League: The New Frontier being tripe. I think that and maybe All-Star Superman are the only two of the DCAU movies I didn't like (although the latter had its moments.) Still, most of them a very flawed, so it's nice to see a movie like this that has more going for it than just high production value and entertaining action sequences.

The DC Universe movies i like are: Wonder Woman, Batman: Under the Red Hood, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths (except for Batman's voice). And you are spot on about what you said about the other two movies.

lol you're right xD This is the best film DC has made since Batman: Return of the Joker. Too bad they werent on a roll since the Green Lantern: First Flight movie was not very good IMO. After a few more movies though they got it right again with Batman: Under the Red Hood. It looks like there is a pattern here :o

Wonder Woman is the only female character I like in DC Universe... Black Canary, Zatana, Huntress, Hawkgirl, Batgirl, Supergirl are all flat (only a personal opinion) - need more character and heroics. Teen Titans girls are good too. Raven, Wondergirl and Starfire are awesome. XD

i finally watched this movie and it was great, dc ares vs marvel ares,i dont know much about dc ares so marvel ares wins,there started to make these movies movies great,i thought wonder woman could fly but she never did in movie.. ,its a tie between jl crisis of 2 earths and this movie,know the movie remain to be seen is batmans red hood

I thought the movie was excellent also. It is very edgy for today's audience. It is also huge improvement from the Superfriends cartoon from the 1970's, although I admit that is not exactly saying much. I enjoyed your casual and laid-back review of the movie.

I loved this movie. The animation is brilliant. Wonder Woman is a related character, the plot is well put together, and overall a good film. I bought it, and it was worth the money.

It was an excellent animated film! The humor - was something else. It was actually also refreshing to see the WW character "powered down", only because there was much emphasis on her resourcefullness and skill. Loved it.

It's a tie between this and New Frontier as the "recent" best DC animated movie, IMO. The Green Lantern one was good, but I wouldn't call it better, and maybe a hair worse...

And Return of the Joker rules all. :D

Odds are, we aren't seeing this on free TV because of all the gore and decapitations. Not without heavily editing, anyways.

My only complaint was how gods quickly forgot their degree from the start of the movie to serve the finale... I won't spoil it by saying more.

As you said ... the mix of drama, humor and action is just perfect and this feature was even more enjoyable than some of those marvel live-action films they just throw out every year ...

I wonder why they don't show those movies in cinemas ... I know it's costly but ... crap I'd like to see this on a big screen^^

it was beter than Batman Gotham knight, incredible compared to justice league the new frontier and incredible awesome more beter than superman doomsday. The designe, the story, the characters, the humor and the rest of things of this movie meake it a good choise to buy and make it part of some one colection.

the first clip is huge."i've got a story to tell you" they're basically showing viewers different perspectives of batman through a child's eyes.

that's only one solid clip from the movie.

Batman drawn in anime has never been done before. backgrounds are well done too.

I bought the darn thing and I wasted cash on a rental. Only bought it because They had a Bruce Timm presents with BATS episodes on it, thought there would be a commentary, Nope. Anyway, Gotham knights was an attempt to capitalize on the Animatrix success, and it comes off as bland and self-obsessed. The only real saving grace was the glorious return of Kevin Conroy, and even that was tainted by a lack of solid material or coherency.

Superman: Doomsday was pretty good actionwise and storywise, Justice League: The New Frontier may have lacked action but it had a good message, and Batman: Gotham Knight was alright. Other than that, this was a fairly helpful video

You would think, Wonder Woman would be the quintescential feminist icon. There is just one TINY problem, most feminists, especially American, have with Wonder Woman; no man has ever touched her. Part of what makes her powerful, and appealing. There WAS this incident back in the early 70's where she was porked by Superman, but that story arch was written off, both male AND female fans of the comics got angry over it. That's right; even male fans got angry, complaining that she lost her appeal

im not a comic book guy or anything but it was good . I kinda waited for them to explain the invisible jet tho. no big deal since its a cartoon but I mean they were cut off from the world for thousands of years witout technology but suddenly a broad pulls up in a jet fighter that I later find out even has missles and basically is flown the same way as all our jets since a guy flies it without issue later. would have been nice if they said they mystically improved his fallen jet or something.

anyway thats not much of a complaint and if you watched any justice league when you were young you will probably walk away from this thinking it was pretty good. its not the best movie of the year (it is just a cartoon) but it is well worth watching in my opinion.

Agreed! Easily the best Direct to DVD from DC! Action-packed, funny, and well-crafted! The voice work is excellent, especially Nathan Fillion and Virginia Madsen!

It's kind of like "300" meets "When Harry Met Sally".

Be warned, it's definitely violent. Not for young kids. If you find it in the Kids/Family section, slap the stock boy.
