@Zeadar You're a Swede & won't get it unless I tell you that the Hokey Cokey is an old fashioned dance where people form a circle and 'put your left leg in, your left leg out - in, out, in,out, shake it all about' -and do all the leg movements to the song. Something we might do at a village hall or your grandmother's party, associated with Cockneys in London. Now when you do the song in the modernist techo version like Kraftwerk with the immobile faces and static moves, it is funny, ja? No?

The song is also known here in Sweden, though it might not be as well known in all parts. =)

The most known version seems to be Honky Tonk by Moraträsk.

So if he has just missed the song or doesn't understand contrast comedy is hard to tell.

I pity him if it is the latter because then he would also have a hard time understanding Monty Pythons sketches like the "Ministry of funny walks".
