Did he say their crossing was more difficult than Fawcett's?!
That is just absurd!
The guy has inflatable rafts, sterno, the best gear on Earth, GPS (I am sure), flashlights, and I bet there is a sat phone somewhere one of those packs...the most advanced thing Fawcett used was a compass! He also had to worry about being killed by native tribes (which probably happened) and was in the jungle for months and months.
@Johnnewb -- Note: He says this in regard to making the pass across the jungle, where there were no trails as before, not in reference to Fawcett's entire journey.
I had heard explorer Bruce Barron recount this story shortly after returning from the expedition. His understated style obviously left much of the challenge and fight for survival while pursuing the expedition's goal unknown until now. In the footsteps, but not the shadow of many explorers before him he remains an inspiration. It will be hard waiting for the full story to be shown.
