Throughout history of this country people have faced an uphill battle for equal rights. Many of those rights were denied because of someone's God. History proves that love overcomes these one sided beliefs and in time we will over come it and everyone could love equal.

It's obvious from your channel that you disagree with same sex marriage. I respect that right. I hope in the eyes of the law that equal rights for all will prival as in Connecticut. (I live in Connecticut and it was ruled unconstitutional to deny same sex people from marrying).
Rest assured, it's been over a year now and the world hasn't ended. The "devil" hasn't shown up and love is in the air in CT with little to no protest. The God I believe in is alive and well here.

AIDS is not the first case of sexually deadly transmitted disease. Check history and you'll find them all over the place and until AIDS, they were mainly spread by straight people. AIDS seems to be traced back to Africa. As for anal sex, there is no evidence that it's not made for that. I know many straight guys who have it with females. The effect of homosexuality on a culture or society has not gone on long enough to determine if it is right. therefore, Same sex couples do not have a SPECIAL right to redefine marriage for everybody else; the " will of the people" have a FUNDAMENTAL right under the tenth amendment to do such a task because we live in a democracy not an aristocracy. In baker v. nelson, the case called citizens for equal protection will show you in their conclusion that citizens do have a right to vote on rights just as long as they are NEW rights , such as same sex marriage.

federal courts and constitution trump state courts by the way but at least one of the reasons why bans on interracial marriage violated the equal protection clause according to the Loving court is because race is a federally recognized suspect class.
none of the federal courts recognize sexual orientation as a suspect class and in fact there are several federal courts that have established it to not be a suspect class . sexual orientation is not even a quasi- suspect class like gender is

This is the reason that sexual orientation needs to be recognized as a class, because they are treated as lesser people. The bottom line is that it says so little for a human being when they find the need to be in the private life of two people that love each other and feel they need to sleep in between them. if Go to Wikipedia and type in Baker v. Nelson, The case will show you that the same court in Loving v Virginia not only distinguished same sex marriage from interracial marriage, but established it as a right that does not exist under the constitution and never did.
so the 14th amendment does not confer a right to gay marriage anymore than it does for polygamy

your analogy to homosexuality and race is misguided. being gay may or may not be a choice but living the gay lifestyle is a choice and that's why we are here. the government doesn't ask you whether you are gay or straight. sexual orientation has nothing to do with the issue.you can't compare an immutable characteristic (race gender etc) to somebody's behavior. A lifestyle is not a minority. Jews, blacks, and women were discriminated against for who they were not for who they were having sex with

@kenballer00 You have an excellent point Ken, The thing I believe (which is strictly my opinion) is that like race, sexual orientation all comes down to DNA and to discriminate someone because of DNA is wrong and all reaches the same point of discrimination race, sex and so forth. Now many people don't want to face the fact that it is your chemical make up (like race).

Being discriminated for who you are attracted to opens a whole new field of discrimination is that is how you want to view it. Blacks at one time couldn't marry whites. That was called discrimination and it all was about who they wanted to sleep with. I do appreciate your views. I think that an open debate like this is a healthy choice and a way of seeing both side. You know Rick, it is disheartening seeing what happened in NJ, but I take hope in the fact that alomost half the senators voted for gay marriage, that is great progress from even 5 years ago. The fight is far from over. May all those people that clapped be blessed with gay children! All gay people should move to CT, think of the awesome state we would be! one last thing, the USA isn't and never was free, A great country we are, but free no!
