I have a trap similar to that but I throw it in the pond. After 5 minutes in the water the cats are much more mellow and easier to transfer to the garbage can.
Once the trap is shut, quickly shoot them al then reset the trap. After a few weeks of this your problem will be solved. Repeat as you need to, every few months to keep them in check. These are not bengal tigers, they are rotten feral / stray filthy cats no matter how cute you think they are or how virtuous you feel wasting time like this. If you love them so, reach in and pick up one of these angels and hold it up to your face...you'll wise up and be shooting them in no time!

You guys were way too gentle in trying to get the cats into the transfer box. Pick up the blanket and just scare the shite out of them--otherwise, it will take you days to get them into a darker box. You should transfer them to a Havaheart trap first--they will run into a Havaheart because of the light--hen you can transfer them into the traveling box.
