I own a regular SG and a 1st generation Robot and I can tell you that nobody can tune a guitar more accurate so quickly . Fans don't want to see you taking 20 or 30 seconds to tune up between songs . THEY WANT MUSIC not BS . So this is not a matter of lazy at all . It is about SPEED and ACCURACY . Hats off to Gibson for helping out with that . I appreciate it . @dennjack1 interesting point however its just not true I guess Im lucky I spent 3 grand to have a luthier build me a guitar that doesn't go out of tune every couple songs let alone 7 hours of constant playing, As a guitar teacher I had the opportunity to test that and yes I was still reading perfect across all strings after 14 straight students. The only reason people would need the auto tune feature are those who use ridiculous tunings and I really don't have much respect for those people.

And for the purest out there , there is no difference between this guitar and an effects pedal . They both enhance you output . The Dark fire looks interesting but this Dusk Tiger looks like a gimmick. Who is this thing supposed to be for? Who's going to buy this? Its too much versatility for a new player and the older players already going to have 3 or 4 guitars they are working with that individually are tweaked to play perfectly. Pro's have 12 or 15 guitars they travel with and pro's have tech's just to look after those guitars...So who's this thing for? Collectors?
2. if you actually think about the things you could do with the tuning system its a good idea. you could be tuned in E in a song then tune to open G and throw a slide piece in a song without having 2 guitarists . i dont think anyones truley lazy enough to just buy it for the robot tuning . besides, if theyre too lazy to tune , theyre also probably too lazy to get the money to afford this .
With 18 alternate tuning options, you'd have the ability to switch from a slide tuning, to B, drop D, and E, tunings all with the switch of one control knob...
And with a price tag that's only one hundred dollars more than a Custom Les Paul. You might as well just go out and get one of these Dusk Tigers.

I don't get the hate for Gibson's automatic tuning system. It's genuinely useful for those that use a wide variety of alternate tunings --a niche market I suppose, (Especially people use more than one tuning on the same song.) I think they should offer it in an Epiphone model. Guitarists like Jimmy Page have been using a similar system for decades, there is nothing terribly new about it, and it isn't analogous to "auto-tune" it does not correct the notes you play.

I want a guitar that can automatically raise or lower my action, or intunate itself. Combine that with the robot tuners and an ORDINARY LES PAUL DESIGN (like cherry sunbusrt, black or gold top) and that would perfect. Oh and I want it to be heavy, as in there's minimal chambering and no weight relief.

I think it's hard to leave the Les Paul out, when the wood body of the Dusk Tiger looks identical to a Les Paul. But else, difference is big.

i wonder if the tiger was ever on the same set as the guitar... perhaps they spliced 2 bits of footage together into a single image to make it look like the tiger was there... would they really put a tiger near a guitar? trained tigers are expensive, man how much money do they have!?

technically your wrong. every les paul has a name. the gibson les paul custom, the gibson les paul standard and so on. this ones called the gibson les paul dusk tiger

Gibson is between a rock and a hard place! Nobody likes the new guitars they make, because nobody ever had a hero that played a robot guitar or a "dusk tiger" or whatever crappy gimmick they come out with next week.
But nobody really wants the same old rehashed Les Pauls and SGs either! LOL They've gotten by on their name for years... I would not miss them if they tanked tomorrow.

I want a guitar that can automatically raise or lower my action, or intunate itself. Combine that with the robot tuners and an ORDINARY LES PAUL DESIGN (like cherry sunbusrt, black or gold top) and that would perfect. Oh and I want it to be heavy, as in there's minimal chambering and no weight relief.
