well just clicking the top power button only turns it to a "Sleep mode" then to take it out of that mode then you have to click on the button at the bottom, to turn it off for work or school or some thing then you hold down the button and then a message will pop up that says slide to turn off or cancel and then you have to slide of course to turn off
