Kay was a close friend of mine, and a really good lady. It's been over 20 years since her passing, and I still miss her.
She was giving the young man a ride in her new car. Kay was helping him fasten his seat belt when she swerved into the other lane.
Whether you like what her body looked like, she was one of the first women to enter female bodybuilding. She was a pioneer for other women who feel their value in their body's strength.
Kay Young, 42, known better as Kay Baxter through the dozens of body building competitions she entered and the fitness publications in which she was featured over the last decade, died when her gold Corvette crashed near Cass Avenue. Police said Baxter was driving on the wrong side of the road when she swerved to avoid hitting an oncoming motorcycle and her car flipped. Neil Axe, 23, of Gardena, who was with Baxter, suffered only minor injuries.
My ex wife was one off Kay's first lifting partners when she was an aerobics instructor in Toronto in the late 70's. She then moved to southern California and got really huge after getting into the roids. She was considered too big to win Ms Olympia at that time, but she was definately ahead of her time.
I think I can remember Ms. Baxter performing on a SportsWorld telecast in the 80's. Really made my heart RACE then. PLEASE drive CAREFULLY to anyone reading this.
ill miss her she should have never bought that dam vette!!! its only because she liked mine she should have kept the dam jeep!!! ill miss you kay always
This is from 1983 or early 1984. She wouldn't look that out of place on a stage now. Back then, her size tended to overwhelm others on stage (even if the judges were loathe to appreciate that).
I had no idea she died, may she R.I.P. excellent female bodybuilder. :( gone too soon. :(

Given that you have an interest in an old-timer like the late great Kay baxter, might you have any footage of her fellow bodybuilder Pillow?

Kay was as wonderful and fun a person as she was a female bodybuilding pioneer.
