I just took another look. You're in Bay Roberts? My Mom was from Trinity Bay -- small place between New Harbour and Blake Town (I won't put the name on here, as it might get edited!).
@dan57844 So cool! I travel out that way many times a summer on out GoldWing. Nice are. If you get over this way drop by and I'll give you the grand tour.
@rbuss1956 Thank you very much. I really appreciate your kind words on my bike but especially on my work. I don't use the bike but it's on display here for all to view. These little gems still keep country's moving. Merry Christmas :)
@onunez21 Well the Beach Boys did do that song but it wasn't there song. The song on this video was done by The Hondells and yes it was done for the Honda Cub. Search YouTube for The Hondells and you'll see the video. Pretty cool for way back then. Good question by the way :)
@OHigherThanStarsO Here in my province you have to have tags, insurance and a valid drivers license but it's not the same across Canada. Check with you local MVD and ask them what you need. Thanks
This is the first bike my Dad bought for my sister and I when we were growing up! I was kind of dissapointed in the beginning because we were such tom boys and this was what I called a girl's bike! Little did I know!!! Everyone wanted to ride our bike and let us ride theirs!! Wish I still had it!
@Angco Wow what a great little story. It's great to heat from other peoples memories of these little gems. The Honda Cub was the most mass produced vehicle in the world and the hardest for me to find. I had one for a short time as a kid and traded it for a ten speed bicycle of all things and always regretted it so I had to make things right and get another one and restore it and the results you see here. Thanks for sharing your story with me. Very much appreciated.
@BENDEOVER Thank you very much. I had one as a kid. I had a bicycle and traded it for the Cub and then sold the Cub and was kicking myself ever since so I had to get another and restore it. Great old bikes. Thanks for your comments.
Hi, another question(s), my honda c50 wont kick start, no idea why. Where exactly does the idle screw go, I think mines missing. And why is there 3 key positions, 0 1 and 2. it only runs in 1. Thats all my questions for the moment, thank you.

I got a question, I got a 1966 Honda Cub (c50) and it wont budge past 25 MPH without dieing. It just recently started to happen. Would anyone know why it does this? Also, I'm at a loss at what kind of battery it takes, I found what type this site says it should take, but it doesn't fit in the battery slot. Anyone please help me out?
@murderface58 That's not a question. That's two questions! :) For the speed issue do a compression test first to see how good the rings and valves are. As for the battery. Go to your local Honda dealer and they can yell you the right battery for your bike. Make sure you know your bikes serial number and have it on hand to give the parts dude.
@murderface58 It might be because you idle screw isn't adjusted in enough or your air mixture screw on the side of the carb may be out of adjustment. I usually screw that one in all the way and back it out one turn to start off and then tweak it a bit. You may need to adjust both of those screws to get it right. If that don't work you might want to check the timing and r points adjustment.
@murderface58 I bought them locally but I've seen them on Ebay and sold on there by Apex cycle. Keep searching for them. They used to have them. Hope this helps.
@7863348 Dude! you did some amasing work on that thing! Such craftsmanship! Maybe I can learn a thing or two from you when restoring a Trail 90 we recently got. Thanks for the vid!
@EpiDemic117 Thank you very much. They're a great little bike and it was a fun project. I'm happy to learn you approve of what I've done with it. I'll bet your Trail 90 will be as equally as good. Good luck with it and thanks for your comments.
Cool! Congradulations! I bet you can't wait to start in at it. Take lots of photo's like I did for referance and when it's all completed do a video. Good luck and enjoy your new toy :)
Hi Hutley405. The song is "Little Honda" by the Hondells. Came out in the 1960's. Your C90 will be a nice project to do. To bad guy abuse these little gems. There a big part of Honda's history. I'm sure you'll get it back to the way it should be. Best of luck!
I am inspired by your video to restore my '64 Honda C102. So far, I disassembled the bike, but I'm stuck trying to find a puller for the flywheel. Any advice?
Your Honda dealer can get you one for about $20. Not much to them. They screw into the fly wheel and push it off. glad you liked the video. Good luck with you restoration.

Is this Beach Boys song specifically about the Honda cub?
Just curious because that is an awesome little bit of trivia.
