if you download custom objects then extract the files all within the downloads folder which you will have to make yourself under My Documents/EA Games/Sims 2 and the items still dont work then they are not compatible with you expansion packs, also when the screen appears after the loading screen is complete make sure you click "enable custom objects" so that your game doesnt refuse downloads

if you check my profile page i have all the links from where i download custom objects for the game, the living area specificaly is reflex sims, the kitchen sims in paris and the dining is 4esf
