Actually, I would favor a complete abolishment of the Federal Reserve, (or at least its monopoly on the money supply revoked by the government). What I meant was that while the Federal Reserve is probably the most blatant and most devastating government intrusion in the free-market ever created, (something liberals seem to get off on), the liberals, (even in their usual absolute stupidity), can't consistently defend this motion to keep the Federal Reserve completely free of government controls.
I like how OUR GOv. wants to audit the federal reserve. when the USA Gov. can even audit themselves. Kind of hypocritical if you ask me. THe USA Gov. is so messed up, it is un auditable....
Well, you statement is up to debate and question and not 100% correct.
True, the Federal Reserve is a Private Independent Entity. but here is the question for you...Who appoints/Elects The federal chairman?? Does he just fall from the sky??????
No, our Governing body appoints/elects the head of the board. Soooo. in a way, Our Gov. controls the operation of the Fed, by electing or appointing, "CERTAIN" fed heads. Person they "LIKE"
So, do you think, the bankers are going to provide a list of potential heads, UNLIKED by the Gov???? No, they are going to provide a list, the Gov will accept.
thats right, I am not arguing that fact. Who do you think get Presidents elected, but the Bankers. There is a NEXUS between the Gov. and Bankers. dont think there is not. B/c how can you explain the FED existing for so many years if that was NOT the case...
Normally, bills as revolutionary as this would never have a hope of passing, but with so many co-sponsors and the Federal Reserve being private, (so the liberals should "love" the government to audit it.)
You dont think the Fed should be audited? A private company that controls our money supply should be able to operate without any oversight from the govt? There is nothing in the constitution that allows for a central bank.

Normally, they state that the market has failed, (or even if it hasn't), and they'll introduce some measure of controls consisting of regulations, nationalizations, taxes, etc. The institution of the Federal Reserve is so a blatantly irrational that not even the concrete-bound liberals can rely on their bromidic defaults to justify giving an unconstitutional, crippling, and evil establishment the unimpeded power to fluctuate, at their discretion, the money supply.

the federal reserve isn't part of the government, it's an independent private organization.

the list of candidates that the government can pick the appointee from is compiled by the bankers themselves.
