Maybe you don't do any cruelty but this dog is very scared, really! My bf studied dog therapy and learned me everything of dogs. I also had this with my first dog, we all thought she was dominant and agressive but it isn't. This is a sign of beeing scared! Dogs who are scared don't want to show this [in nature] so they start beeing agressive. aggressiveness and fear are one complex with dogs.
Try to punich when she growls and your brother best can give her some treats to win her faith in him. :)

My French Bullies have never made this noise, but they are well socialized and I don't put them into stressful situations for fun. You said your dog has never bitten anyone, and that is great... but this is just asking for a first.
My dog actually gets along with people he already knows but he hates kids...like I said we only paid $700 for him but we thought it was because of his back legs not working right (which they work perfectly fine now it's just the dog himself that's scarred) when we got him at 8 weeks old they didn't tell us he had food aggression with people or animals...I broke him of his food aggression with people but he still fights with my parents dogs over treats. When I visit, none of the dogs get treats..

Unfortunately, this is not "cute". This dog is giving numerous and clear warnings to back off. If you keep ignoring these warnings, he will very well escalate to biting, Continuing to provoke this behavior also puts unnecessary stress on your dog, which can shorten his lifespan. My recommendation is to seek the help of a qualified trainer or behaviorist (see ccpdt.org or iaabc.org) so you can help your dog by teaching him to tolerate handling and prevent the problem from escalating further.

We call that the Raptor like from Jurassic Park. My French bulldog Rudy does that when intimidated. Frenchies can have some serious dominance issues especially towards other dogs. While funny I would not encourage it at all if the dog was 100lbs instead of 20lbs you would be very frightened. Little dogs are still a safety concern for little people or animals.

That is classic aggressive behavior, No it's not cute, That dog is probably teased quite often, Which will eventually lead to it biting someone..And a French Bulldogs bite is not pleasent.

I am an RN who has been breeding French Bulldogs for 23 years. This behavior is indicative of a dog that is fearful, and she is warning you. I am well aware of the yodeling frenchies all of which are amusing, but are also the result of elongated soft palates thereby causing an unusual resonance. A blue tongue is the same in people as it is in dogs. This is exactly why I don't place any puppies with people who have children that are too young or too irresponsible to treat them with respect.

seems like the pup does not like you petting it. I mean if it liked you and felt comfortable it'd probably be wiggling and all happy. Little skater kid must've did something traumatic to the little dog. My observation. Not abusing it, but something that it didn't like therefore the behavior you see being displayed. Just my opinion.

My shih-tzu Kaida makes a funny noise like that when she's on my lap and someone tries to remove her. Dunno how people can say it's abuse! People who see this need to watch real videos of poor animals who truly are abused.
I have a French Bulldog as well, it's female, and like 5-6 years old, and she has NEVER made those noises, not at all. She has actually never even growled at me. So i'm sorry but what you said that ALL frenchies are like that. WRONG!
If the people posting all that crap saying it's wrong knew anything about dogs they would know this isn't an unhappy dog. Unhappy dogs either run away or they bite. This dog did neither. That's how she plays. My dog is a Boston and she does the same stuff the whole time her tail is wagging all over the place. You'll even notice this dog pushed it's head back toward the kids hand after he stopped.

I feel sorry for you but I work in an animal center, have a Bf who studied for dog therapy and I've read a lot of books. I feel so pity for people who don't knwo how to treat a dog.. But I also was once, a year ago. but now that I learned so much of dogs I do feel so pity..

My french bulldog, Ren does the same thing when he's on the couch and getting petted. He gets a little territorial. He's not angry or unhappy, it's like he's purring, showing that he's the big dog on the couch..dunno. He doesn't do it on any place except the couch.

A blue tongue is the same in people as it is in dogs. This is exactly why I don't place any puppies with people who have children that are too young or too irresponsible to treat them with respect.

seems like the pup does not like you petting it. I mean if it liked you and felt comfortable it'd probably be wiggling and all happy. Little skater kid must've did something traumatic to the little dog. My observation. Not abusing it, but something that it didn't like therefore the behavior you see being displayed. Just my opinion.

@jeromski76 He probably doesn't like the the "kid." Me and my cousins all have different dogs and every time my little bro try's to pet one of them they start to growl like there from hell or some shit like that. Then when one of us pets the dogs they quiet down.

I have a French Bulldog as well, it's female, and like 5-6 years old, and she has NEVER made those noises, not at all. She has actually never even growled at me. So i'm sorry but what you said that ALL frenchies are like that. WRONG!

If the people posting all that crap saying it's wrong knew anything about dogs they would know this isn't an unhappy dog. Unhappy dogs either run away or they bite. This dog did neither. That's how she plays. My dog is a Boston and she does the same stuff the whole time her tail is wagging all over the place. You'll even notice this dog pushed it's head back toward the kids hand after he stopped.

I feel sorry for you but I work in an animal center, have a Bf who studied for dog therapy and I've read a lot of books. I feel so pity for people who don't knwo how to treat a dog.. But I also was once, a year ago. but now that I learned so much of dogs I do feel so pity..

My french bulldog, Ren does the same thing when he's on the couch and getting petted. He gets a little territorial. He's not angry or unhappy, it's like he's purring, showing that he's the big dog on the couch..dunno. He doesn't do it on any place except the couch.
