I am in a band and we have a lot of songs like bad religion...they are my biggest influence and the guitarist too...with out them I wouldn't be a musician
when you have all these so-called "punk" poster boys playing pop music and talking about getting dumped, you lose the meaning of punk. its too corporate and plastic, this pre-fab music and message, and it sucks. all the bands re-hash their lyrics, and incite stupid rebellion against parents or something when you really should be taking a stand against proper issues- or just having fun! theres a lot to be said for just doing stuff for fun instead of for money or to "express your creativity" ¬¬
He's so damn right, I just wonder how is it going to be within 15 years... let's face it, real rock is dying, bad religion can't play forever and we are going to have to live of memories, every day a new fall out boy will appear just to disappear the next day...horrible, horrible world
Fat mike said that if there is one band that will keep punk alive, it is the Flatliners.
Check out Eulogy, Carry the Banner, You Guys Want One of These? (<--BADASS guitar riff), Count Your Bruises (very catchy), Shithawks (BADASS drumming) etc.
also, Hal Johnson Smokes Cigarettes. youtube.com/watch?v=cdNIRbtk65o
Everyting he says about todays scene and how the warped tour's gotten shittier over the past few years, makes sense. girl jeans, break downs, comb overs, cookie monster vocals, have flooded the scene with
mockery. Now and days people want to be the next myspace rock star and fit into to their sisters pants. Whatever happend to the people who wanted to go aganist the grain.
jay fuckin gets it i remember when warped tour had bad religion rancid circle jerks penywise nofx and other bands.nowfuckin kevin lyman put poppy shit like parmore and new found glory. fuck they even have aband called cute is what we aim for.what the fuck is thar. i need to make my own tour with bad religion and circle jerks and good stuff cuz im tired of all the crappy stuff and if anyone agrees with me please comment on this videi
I ordered it and I figured out how to play "Skyscraper" and "American Jesus" (guitar). Skyscraper has some awesome structured cord changes. Very elaborate.

Oh you'll see that the album has much more to offer than that awesome song!
It's been a week since you wrote that comment so I assume you've got your album now.
Listen to American Jesus and Anesthesia, for example.

Yes, it's brilliant.
Our band covered American Jesus and played it a couple of times.
It's such a great live-song, especially in the "One nation under God"-part.

Whats the name of the song thats playing at the end of this video? I like it.

He does speak the truth! That would be cool to meet him.
I can't believe that there are so many bands that are just bands to make money and be popular.....Popularity is retarded.
