You have to seek them out in the cave some time after you beat their level.

@TheBeastBandit after the battle against ninetails, you can go back to kusa village and go to the gale shrine. you know where the ghost was? you go through that door and when you get in, take the immediate right passage and the kusa 5, as well as princess fuse will be there. you talk to princess fuse and after her dialogue, you can choose to take on the kusa 5. but remember to save nearby and stock up on items lol.

You get an item called the string of beads, which grants you unlimited health and ink, as well as multiplying your attack power by 10.
