For me, it sounds a little bit more like Sad Lovers and Giants. Joy Division is really darker and more punk in the same time to compare. I'm happy all that young bands reissuing (is it english ?) the old sound...i don't feel old fashioned for my neighbours when i put a Taxi Girl, Marquis de Sade, Ubik (no, no, it's not advertisement for new-wave french bands...), Killing Joke or The Sound CD on. :)
