For cleaning the keyboard, I turn off the Macbook Pro, flip it upside down so the bottom and the hinge is facing me and tap the keyboard. The stuff should fall down to the screen and you just blow it off.

If it it were opened and clean it can be well cleaned. Using a dust buster is not good for a computer, specially for laptops. it creates static. Because of this vid Ill definetely buy a mbp! thanks

I'm thinking of buying a Moshi clearGuard, but before that I want to clean ALL of the buttons so they will appear clean and shiny under Moshi

Is it safe to take every button off the keyboard? What lotion should I use to clean them if I take them off?

my mac came with a microfiber cloth, or some sort of it feels a bit softer than microfiber actually :P but with that cloth and a spray for glass / tv my macbookpro's screen looks as new everyday. but I've found out how to clean the keyboard, without the mini vacuum cleaner.

Its recommended to use blue windex..it works on the whole computer including the screen. Just spray onto a paper towel

@hannah96banana just bought the high resolution antiglare screen and it is absolutely amazing imo 1000 times better in all light and it llooks so much nicer then the glossy screen to , i suggest go with the high res antiglare anyday over the glossy

Three things to add. Apple recommends you take the battery out before using a damp cloth on it; the cloth damp with water and not using any chemicals. The last thing, like when playing a guitar to keep the strings from corroding any faster (from acid/dirt in sweat, etc.), WASH YOUR HANDS before using it. It might sound a bit anal, but isn't an $1800 piece of equipment worth it?

my macbook pro screen sometimes get spots on it. i have this girl that i have to babysit and she'll be drinking milk and she'll be randomly laughing and then she'll sneeze and get milk all over my screen (disgusting!!) ill get it off but there is still little signs of things that sorta feel like light scabs. if i were to shine a light on it it would be horrifying.... any advice for getting that off??

I've got a fairly new MBP, but I've noticed (under certain lighting conditions) that the aluminum exterior -- particularly the palm rest area to the sides of the trackpad -- is getting some dark blotches from hand oils. I've been wanting to clean it, but I've been too worried that water will leave streak marks or wear out the aluminum finish. that is one thing i hate about my macbook pro. the oil form my hands just shows on this aluminum like crazy. i havae to wipe it down like once a day or else ill get these dark oily skin smudges all over it. i hate that. makes it look bad. they should have coated it with sumthing to prevent that. like a minaral based wax urathane or sumthing. it would have made the aluminum shine too. :-) thats one for the sugestion box i guess. :-)

I think you did a really good job cleaning the Macbook Pro, however, I am not sure...but I think the gloss screen should not be wiped down with water or chemicals or anything. I think they have special cloths. Also, the vacuum kinda scares me. I do love the magic eraser idea!

for sure, i prefer using dustbusters/vacuums for cleaning the vents rather than using compressed air. blowing air into it just seems to blow it around and also inside. the vacuum sucks it all out
