Bill Moyers is an old communist hack who's so talentless he can only get a job on PBS. I'm sick and tired of these leftist fossils like him that hang around in the media just to make you, me, and anyone else who aspires to rub more than 2 cents together feel like leper. If you're a Yankees fan feel good about getting a new, well deserved, ballpark, even if you only get to watch it on TV(which being on the west-coast includes me). Bill Moyers and the rest of the class-warfare people can go screw.
The building of both the new Yankee Stadium and Citi Field were neccesary as both facilities were obsolete, especially Shea. Yankee Stadium had to be massively overhauled thirty years ago because it was a disaster. It would've cost almost the same amount of money to make the upgrades neccesary to the old facilty as it would've to build a new facility and to rebuild again around an 85 year old frame is not smart business.
I for one am really looking forward to the new Yankee Stadium. As a lifelong Yankee fan, I wasn't even a gleam in my mother's eye before the stadium was remodeled and the new stadium resembles the original a great deal. It's a fitting tribute to both past and present. For all we complain about cost and prices at ballgames, it's has been argued over for years and people still show up regardless. The Yankees always draw crowds and that won't change.
The fact is, it was a necessity. It's their fucking ballpark let them do what they want. No one tells you not to put a plasma TV in your living room. Shut the fuck up you tree huggers holy shit.
