  • evvv easy and efective but u can burn ur ic . but if u use smaller reducing noozle ( 4-6 mm) u will never burn the ic except memory ic ., memory ic is very sensitive -from own experience .

  • super easy!

  • Sounds like a tie fighter

  • We can use hot air gun from Steinel modle number HG 2000 E , HL 2010 E LCD , HG 2310 LCD . For more information on indian dealer for this product you can contact Pammvi Group of Companies

  • More details about the hot air gun for smd ic removal can be found on

  • Well that's a lot of hot air ;-)

  • Worked perfectly for me. I just removed a tqfp-44 chip. Don't know if that chip was damaged or not by doing this but don't really care about that. Just wanted to free the board up so I could put a different chip in that spot.

  • @DonEduardo954 i used a lighter to remove an ssop darlington array, it wasn't damaged :D

  • @amando96 lol good idea !

  • holy sh** that must be hot!

  • adjust the air flow to 5 Cfm and little more and only place it for 5 to 7 secs not more this will damage the other IC's

  • you can also hold the board upside down and heat the board from the bottom, as soon as the right temperature is reached the IC will fall from the board, this avoids overheating the actual IC, in case you want to recycle it...

  • Usually it's not cost efficient to troubleshoot little boards like this with small amounts of components.

  • Not necessarily, there are solder tips made specifically for removing j-lead ic's like this one.

  • @Tunnelfish There's a ground plane though...

  • can you also remove a ic chip eith hot steam.????????

  • @johneymute really? u wanna blast vaporized water at ur electronics?

  • caraca, esse tempo todo de exposição ao ar quente não queima o componente não?

  • very cool.

  • fine, si se tiene a la mano muestra los diferentes tipos de nozzle para los componentes. atte marioni de nogales

  • very nice thanx

  • what kind of airgun used? how much temperature is needed to melt the soldering?

  • 170°C and up for most solder, that gun is not a specialty hot air gun that I can tell you.
