This song is a good representation of Salvador himself, and not the band. He claims to be a keyboardist first, a vocalist second, and an entertainer third, yet Quincy outdoes him in all three, especially on the other songs. He needs to go completely solo if he wants us to see what he's really made of instead of.

They could be so much better. On the album, they don't use the backing band to their full potential. Instead, much of the album is synthesized music. When they play live, it sounds empty because the music doesn't translate to live instruments very well. They should have jammed more instead to get a real band vibe, but now it doesn't matter because, it's just Salvador and Quincy now, which is probably for the best.

You have to understand that Carlos Santana was not Carlos Santana all his life. He started playing all types of music early on. He even played with his father in his mariachi band. Salvador is just beginning his own career and future. Most important he is a SANTANA.
