Hi Terry ,Mack here just watched all your posts in one sitting, great job man. I have a 1971 mgb gt . i keep it in the garage in tennessee but im currently workin in chicago so i can only work on it in briefly when i go home. got to support my english sports car habit. just ordered a set of dayton wire wheels as the ones on it are knackered. spent a few years in england while in the air force, loved it . sure do miss that John Smiths . looking forward to your next video blog. thanks for posting
Hi Terry, I've been following along not only for enjoyment but also inspiration for my own '74.5 GT restoration. Great work! I'm looking forward to the next update....
ps the original color of your car was called 'Tundra'
I know it's been some time, Got to upload the blogs from my new camera. Also as well as working om the car I have been decorating our home. All the front suspension has now been rebuilt and fitted back on to the car. Will try this coming weekend to upload.
@66poink Hi - I have now restored the front suspension, 3 coats of paint before fitting and new brake pipes & new bushes. It's been slow progress, but will keep at it. Next job is do the rear brakes and then get the car ready to be put on the road.
Thank you very much for these videos. I also have a 74 MGB GT. I have removed the engine and gearbox and the wings and most of the interior. I won't have much money till june so I am just cleaning as much as I can. I have sand blasted any parts that will fit in the booth. I'm surprised at the lack of corrosion/rust as Oregon has a climate similar to merry old England. Keep up the good work you inspire me.
Thanks for your comment. I got the car moving up and down the drive way. Now I am back in the garage and i have stripped the front suspension down ready for the rebuild. So yet again I am stck in the garage not moving. Do as much cleaning as you can, evan now I am still stripping parts and painting them.
Wonderful progress! I'm sorry to hear about the Bulkhead blow out and oil leak, but glad to hear that they seem to have worked out. These engines have a truly musical quality that really soothes the bruised knuckles and smashed or frozen fingers. This one sounds particularly nice! Thanks for posting,
Thanks for your comments. Hopeflly this weekend will move the car out of the garage using the engine for the first time in over a year. Having just got to bleed all the brakes and clutch, got to get all the air out.
Thanks for your comment. The Core Plug at the rear of the engine next to the bulkhead blow out. I have fixed it and tested the engine running for nearlt 30 minutes and all seems to be ok. Will explain on my next blog.
hi terry, i always watch your video-blog - fine! fingers crossed that the engine will rev the car into an very nice summer. best mg-greetings from berlin!!! p6
Thanks for your comment. Engine rev's ok. Had a problem the Core Plug at the rear of the Engine blow out. I have fixed it now, will explain on next blog.
Thanks for your comment. Talking about leaks? One of my Core Plugs at the rear of the Engine next to the Bulkhead blow out, steam all over the place. I have fixed it now and had the engine running for 25 minutes with no problems. Will explain, on my next blog.
Hey Terry,
I just got myself a 1969 BGT, using you as my inspiration. Waiting for the next update!
