  • Hey Josh - Are you proud of the Bixler Plane? I wouldnt be if I were you. Instructions are very poor.

Even Josh mentions how difficult it is to see things in the video and you brush over it. Quality of plastics and decals on the remote are feeble. It is a good starter plane but could also be a turn off for people getting started as it is nowhere as easy to fly as demonstrated in this video. I think your enthusiasm is great and I like watching your videos but this plane package could be better.

  • Not the best model for those who don`t have a car...

Detaching the wing everytime will broke the EPO and wires for ailerons control.

  • At around 3:55 , we see Josh S. go off with the battery and the charger. Do you need a 12 v power supply that can hook up to it? + if so, what does he use? Thanks

  • Too bad a US company cannot manufacture these soon we all will be Chinas punks, less US jobs less buyers. Nice plane though flys well.

  • I'm sold I'm buying one

  • I love my Bixler! Thanks Josh and thanks Santa ;) I took it out to fly yesterday in fairly high winds (more than I'd fly my 400 size helis in) and the Bixler was a hoot! At low throttle into the wind it could actually fly backwards (slowly) and flying with the wind it screams along. Catching the Bixler by the nose instead of landing it is fun too. This is my first fixed wing aircraft and I would recomend it to anyone wanting to learn to fly RC.

  • I just built my Bixler, the manual does not give the centre of gravity location and the pictures are way to small, thanks flitetest for the cg info. My Bixler was missing the esc & I had to glue the fuselage together as it fell apart when I took it out the box! It's a fairly easy build, nice. I took the washers out the nose & will start with a 2200mah battery. The aileron clevises are weak & easy to break, be careful! I would recommend using some thread lock on the prop spinner.

  • @chiosex The "Nearly Ready to Fly" doesn't come with an ESC, transmitter or battery, so the fusalage is not stuck together to allow installation of ESC. This is also better as it is easier to install the FPV gear first.

  • Does it come with a power supply for the charger in the RTF version

  • hay guys i got my vary first plane for christmas... it was the best plane ever the bixler vary first flight hopefully tomorrow wish luck...

  • Thanks guys for your help on this... Your video help me make the decision to buy this plane from Hobby King. This will be my very first one and very excited to get it... Thanks again guys

  • Billige Abklatsche vom EasyStar. Typisch Chinesen

  • my one came with the fuselage split it was not glued. I used hot glue to assemble it

  • does it include a remote

  • please reply is this good for begginers?? if not can i have a rtf plane

  • @tomtom4867

You will need an esc turnigy 30 amps.

    629E6ED8D122

  • Il recommend buying this battery for fpv flying

    hobbyking(dot)com/buddy.asp?code=641003E5-FD54-4D58-A740-E23F19424011

  • The RX comes with 7 cable slots or pin sets, but there are only 6 inputs on on the top.. What is the 7th one for ?

  • @wickedpenguinbox Thats the bind plug

  • hey, would the bixler's engine mount take a 2812 1400kv motor ? was thinking of buying the kit only and putting this motor i have lying around on it.

    Many thanks

  • easystar knockoff?

  • Hey Guys good job on this, on the HK site i see a few planes like the Bixler; such as the (Floater jet) , (Pusher star), and(Dolphin micro) will these planes respond well to flapperon setup and how are they different? i know the latter may not be a simple question to answer. thanks

  • Nice plane but a copy of the Multiplex EasyStar is it not?

  • could you use hot glue???

  • now does the bixler arf come with the velcro for the rx and battery and stuff?

  • hay does any 1 know what motor i need to buy? i cant find it a link would be good

ive ben searching for an hr just not comfident on witch 1 to buy plz give me the link to the right motor

  • What's with "in English" manual? Do you usually get manuals in German or Japanese? :D

  • will a 4000 mah 3s battery burn the esc or motor up?

  • @cncsmarty the 4000mah battery would just run longer you are not at risk of burning up the esc or motor. Unless weight starts to become a factor;

  • My "Bixler" arrived a few days ago.

I feel your review is quite clearly biased! Maybe too many "gifts" from Hobbyking?

You gave this model a good review making the point that it had building instructions in english and emphasised how it would be a good trainer for a beginner. The instructions are a total waste of time! They don't even give the centre of gravity!! Also, the instructions state that the model is for "intermediate pilots with some flying and building experience" !

  • Hey lads, i cant find a pack on hobby king that comes with all the Remotes and batteries and stuff.. can you please let me know if its available? i want to buy 2 and ship them to AUSTRALIA

  • like i said on facebook, i want to buy this plane for fpv, but would a 3000mah work well or would it be too much for the plane to cope with?

  • that plain is like easystar from multiplex

  • What airfoil does this plane use?

  • A manual in English?! It's a Hobby King first, people!

  • Can some one tell my if I can use my Bixler TX with a nother RX in a nother plane? BTW I love flying this plane it's so much fun:)

  • my crash with Bixler

  • Does any one know what the loop wire for the receiver that comes with the plane is for?

  • @nalli77 It's to bind your RX to the TX. It should already be bound though.

  • @flitetest Ok thank you:) everything seems to work just put it together but were would I plug it if I had to use it? btw thank for replying and that was quick:)

  • @flitetest hey is this plane like the skysurfer cuz i have one comming in the mail

  • @flitetest Is that the extra set of pins on the receiver? Would it hurt to attach the loop anyway?

  • does this plane come with a transmitter, id really apreciate an answer as im looking at getting my first plane

  • @commanderplyers The Readt-To-Fly Version does! Everything you need to start flying.

  • @flitetest this will probably sound really silly, but i cant find the RTF version, would it be possible for a link or something similar?

  • @flitetest how much would the Ready-to fly cost, because im looking at getting my first plane too.

  • focus faster please! it's really annoying you trying to be artsy with your out of focus shots! just keep it focused!!!

  • The plane is great, BUT the two guys bickering amongest each other and the use of a dry wall saw and a miter saw to open packages was really silly.

  • Can i use foam super glue?

  • At 7:58 you say outrunner motor. If I understand correctly, according to the pop up on Hobby King dot com describing same, the front half outer case of the outrunner motor turns with the shaft and prop. If this is so the outrunner can not work on this airplane.

  • Hey guys, I recently bought the KIT version of the Bixler, do I need a Y connector to plug in both aileron wires into the one plug on the receiver?

    Thanks for your help,

    Al

  • Hello, I have been looking to get the Bixler for my son for some time now, but it has been on back-order at Hobby King for some time as well. Maybe good things come to those who wait, but would love to get one in the air....Maybe you can sell me yours :)

  • can i fly the blixer, with a 4 channel transmitter ?

  • @wartree yes

  • I'm new to R/C planes and this looks like a good place to start. I noticed on the HobbyKing website that it's available with throttle left and throttle right radios. Which do you recommend and why?

I'm loving the videos. Keep it up.

  • i love this airplane !! Hobby King finally has it =) !! going to save up money and get this plane for sureeeeeee

  • Your intros and production quality is superb

  • ypu could probably put a 2200 3s in here right? and would hot glue be ok?

  • Comment removed

  • Similar to the second plane I owned, the Hawk Sky as recommended by RCPowers. Great design for beginners and still fun to have in my hangar a year later.

  • Is this plane for beginners

  • lol... thats just a sky hawk

  • not AGAIN !...

EPO/EPP and EPOXY does not make a good bind, will look fine and stick - but easily breaks apart if stressed..

PLEASE test it out, and address it.

  • I really like the look of this plane! BUT the model costs $129 just for foam parts!!! Thats ALOT.

  • Will this plane fly with 2s battery without any modification?

  • Great vid as always guys. Keep up the good work. Hobby king is the best thing for the sport of RC flying. I have two kids a wife how can use ebay and a mortage. So if it wasn't for sites like hobbyking I would not be able to afford a shed down the back with a dozen different planes to fly. I really dont give a flying F)&( where their designs or ideas from. Keep them coming. You want to spend more with other brands go do it. These guys open this sport up to anyone how wants to have a go.

  • hey guys love ur vids

hope u can get more subs

i wanna get this plane from Hking but i have some questions

i want your suggestion for the best motor for this plane for speed

and best battary for longest fly

  • 0:32

  • 3,000 feet range ? seriously ?

  • 0:32

  • lol, u have to fly inverted and backwards to brake the motor off.

  • H-King didnt get any ideas from multiplex, nooooooooo, that would be wrong :)

  • Don't worry about the annoying people saying that this is a copy, I consider it an improvement.

And we have alot of Brands selling this kind of plane, its just the perfect electric trainer type at this moment. The HK's one is the more affordable I found, it have 4 channels! Even the advanced guys loves to fly one of this. And beyond of that, it's a Bixler, hahahaha!!

I will buy soon as possible.

    Cheers!

  • Hi Flitest crew! Always a very good job! Congratulations

    again!

So, I was wondering if you know what kind of 2620

brushless motor is this, cus I can't find it on HK site.

How many Kvs?? etc... I'm building a plane almost like this, what a coincidence.

    Continues...

  • looking forward to the flight vid!

  • Crap! coppy of Beta 1400 :|

  • @Blikess I bet it isnt a copy, but a rebrand. In other words, it probably comes from the exact same manufacturer and they slap a different name on it and send it to Hobby King.

  • @NauticalMil3s And this plane is actually a rebranded Beta 1400, all the way down to the numbers on the servo leads. I know because I have one ;)

Whats great about this vs the Multiplex is that it comes with ailerons and a slightly bigger wingspan.

  • Still can't understand why your videos never reach my sub box on youtube. I have to go to your channel to see if you have new uploads. And I often miss many. Also, want more subs? You need to elaborate more on your video tags. I never see your vids on the "related videos" on the right when I watch other RC videos.

  • @B4its2L8guy Thank you for the Suggestion! We are always open to constructive criticism.

  • @flitetest its probaly how long it takes for your vids to proceess do to how much they have in them media wise

  • ARF version in the USA warehouse!!

  • @NauticalMil3s

yeah, totally agree with you. I even went down into my cellar to take a look at my Easystar. Except for the aileron and the magnets to mount the hatch, the Bixler plane is 100% Multiplex's Easystar.

If i where Josh Bixler, i would not want any company to make a lot of money with fakes of great products where thy just put my name on it.

Actually this is the first time I think about not watching the next episodes anymore, although i liked the show a lot.

  • @samotronta05 The Easystar is an often copied design. I think what Flitetest and Hobby King have done is a great thing. A beginner can now purchase a very stable, proven design with brushless power that is 100% ready to fly for just over $100.00. Now, if HK would just put it in the US warehouse so shipping wouldn't be $50.00.

  • Hehe, nice vid man but....this is a easystar 1:1 copy hehe

  • Cool plane and i like the name. Have you reviewed the Mustang behind you yet? I bought it yesterday at the aussie hobbyking shop. Would be good to see a review before I crash it.

  • It looks like someone attacked J. Scott's hands with sandpaper!

  • I love your plane Josh ,i'm buying it now........nice touch with the flite test logo on the motor mount

  • THIS IS A FU**ING MULTIPLEX EASYSTAR 1:1 Copy

  • I had my heart set on an EPP FPV and Hobby King just got them in stock and now this comes out..........My wife wont notice TWO new planes will she?

  • This plane disappoints me, it should have been named the Scott, everyone knows Josh Scott has all the talent

  • Nice ,looks liek a pretty cool plane. Maybe a bit biger for FPV Ohh you for got the last control surface Up is down and down is up... lol ;0)

  • 0:32

  • Great video guys,.... Question though what would be the largest ESC/Motor/Prop could be Use, To offset the weight of an FPV system? :) Any info would be Outstanding

  • At 10:07 its vice versa

  • i'm sure many are wondering this too but josh scott just acts stupid right? like for the purposes of these productions ? if not, i feel sorry for him...

  • @numex106 i like it because it gives the show a less serious feeling and is more attractive to new pilots

  • A clone was cloned! This is nice! Keep it up guys! You are doing great!

  • How muck is the plane

  • @minileafe There is a link in the description.

  • @flitetest

Just saying, but having that much tags only narrows the people able to reach your video. You need to be more specific (the f22 tag ?)

  • Based off the SkySurfer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S BASED OFF A CLASSIC DESIGN CALLED THE EASYSTAR! Its a freaking rip off!

  • AAAAAHH!! YOU TEASERS!!! ;)

Love the plane! I'm thinking of buying it when I get my next paycheck :D

I'm gonna use it for short range FPV, maybe out to max 800-1000 meters, do you think the Bixler will handle that range?

Oh, and also, how would you compare it to Multiplex' EasyStar?

    Woodbear

  • Great job as usual. Looks like a lot of fun. Can't wait to see it fly and I wish Jose Scott all the best in flying. I am starting out as well and I am feeling all the excitement and terror that goes with learning to fly. Best to all of you and I am staying turned to the next show .

    Thanks

  • In the teaser I thought JoshB said "Farm field with weed". Took me a minute to realize he said "wheat".

  • Nice! Hurry and offer a model without transmitter and receiver please!

  • @marhar2 yeah will there be a version without tx/rx?

  • Comment removed

  • @marhar2 ARF here: See the new items link on the Hobbyking website, there is an ARF and a KIT version available since a few hours.

  • Im so tempted to buy one even though I have an Easystar!

  • At 10:07, shouldn't it be the inner most hole on the control horn for maximum throw, and the outer most hole on the servo arm?

  • @ivcvideo you have it reversed, inner most on servo and outer on the control horn.

  • @LexLex0987654321 No he's got it right! for max throw you want outer most hole on servo and inner most hole on control horn ;-)

  • @startazz are you sure?

  • @LexLex0987654321 Yeah 100% but only if you want Maximum throw ;-)

  • @startazz nope. he has it for minimum throw. he said it has lots of surface so, to make it docile, put it to the outter holes on the control horns

  • @RCcunuk Yeah i know what he said but i was agreeing with someone who said for MAX throw not minimum throw mate ;-)

  • @startazz Oh, OK. hard to follow threads in this format. It seemed as though you were saying for max surface deflection, put the rod on the outer most hole, which is backwards.

    Cheers

  • @ivcvideo he is looking for docile control, not max control though

  • @ivcvideo they are explaining how to reduce the throw, so outermost hole is best for minimum throw for a beginner.

  • @ivcvideo it would be for maximum throws but Bixler is telling you how to get lower throws for beginners...

  • when will the flight review be posted

  • Neat plane, congrats on having a plane named after you. Cant wait to see the flight review!
