Absolutely my favourite Numan song:so poignant, evocative and haunting!

I interviewed Gary last week for Keyboard Player Magazine, and was tickled

to get the chance to tell him how much this beautiful song means to me.

He was a complete class act;probably the nicest artist yet that I've interviewed!

This song just breaks my heart. I don't know why, nothing specific in my past that I can recall. Maybe it collects little thoughts and regrets and bundles the emotion of them all for 5 minutes and 40 seconds. Christ, I got tears in my eyes just typing this. Bless you Gary, the one true musical genius of my lifetime...

@Lesmc1of3 Indeed, I often have to stop writing responses due to my own emotions causing my eyes not being able to see. My greatest love is music, therefore few gain my attention. Gary remains a genius as you say, so is Elton, Freddie,Geddy,Neil, Alex. All I speak of here provoke tears from a grown man's eyes.

Wow I just discovered this and it is beautiful, I am starting to think that Mr Numan has the best Outr'os in the business. I am 23 years old and pillage the You tube library for my listening pleasure all the time, without this I would never have found so many songs I am now enjoying... I've followed this bloke from the start. He has change as all things do over time. I think what he does now is brilliant but I never forget his past and this track sums it up. what a beautiful song this is. in his early years he was incredible and forward. his music was bold, but he eventually had to fit into a slot. .... he made some fantastic music..very very under-rated. are friends electric still sounds incredible after 30 years.
