I followed another way how to do a granny rectangle by Red Heart-- I like the technique she used, but it was too fast, and she didn't do a demo of how the second or third round was done. Now I'm stuck... I've started a project using that technique, but I don't know what to do next. I like how you explain patterns and techniques better. Would you mind checking out how to do the Red Heart pattern for a rectangualr granny and teaching us how to do it that way too? Pretty Please ? :)
@luvuJesusmySavior They are not interested in teaching you, only selling yarn. Due to intellectual property laws, I would not be able to work the pattern without permission from the author. I have tried contacting that company with no luck or response.
I recently bought my wee mum a smaller bed (5ft 6" in length) and found that I couldn't buy bedding to fit. I came across your video and figured I might as well give it a try. Thanks to you I have just completed a warm arran crochet blanket and plan to make a few more! Excellent instuctions (even if it took me a dozen attempts before I got the gist of it) I couldn't have done it without your help.
Almost everything I have learned I have learned from you!! You are an awesome teacher, you take time to explain things perfectly and slow the video down on the more difficult parts. I am a young crocheter so most people are floored by the array of things I have learned...I have always given credit where credit is due and now even my grandmother (who taught me how to crochet) is learning things from you!! You're great Teresa, thanks for taking the time to post your videos!!
omg... excellent video... this was hilarious for me, as i am workin w/ a size Q hook, using macrame nylon cord to make a rectangle rug for outside bbq... the 15 minute video took well over 2 hours for me!!!... had to stop/go because my stitches are at least 2" in height... am familiar w/ crocheting, but never made a rectangle, which, now that i have seen video, makes too much sense... tyvm for video... greatly appreciated... i think i can handle it from here...
Teresa, what size hook did you use for this demonstration piece??? Also, please suggest the appropriate way to change colors in this piece so more than one color may be used. Thank you SO MUCH! Debbie
@dannes1956 The hook is a larger size M. When you are finished with the color, cut the yarn and pull the tail through to secure. Slip stitch to attach the new color. You can attach the new yarn in any space to stagger the starting point.
@tjw1963 Thank you SO MUCH, Teresa, for your quick response. I am anxious to begin this project that I am hoping will ultimately be a lapghan for a male. You are so incredibly helpful, and I appreciate you so much! Debbie
@tjw1963 Thank you so much for all your help, Teresa! I just tried my first "practice swatch" of the granny square crochet rectangle. It's so easy. I had never made a chainless foundation before, but it was easy also. Your videos are invaluable to me, and I so appreciate all the time and effort you spend into creating them. Debbie
Hi teresa, i just learned this granny rectangle square yesterday.. yours is the same. i was wondering, have you ever put a felt backing on an afhgan? so that toes wouldn't go through it and tear it. I found some felt backing material that is 55/60 inches wide.can you tell me if you can or have you ever done it?
I'm trying to find an crocheted eyelet insert pattern for my ripple afghan, meaning that one color would be an eyelet pattern. Do you have any idea where I might find something like this? Thanks so much.
I am not sure how this amount will turn out since I have not made an afghan. You can add stitches/chains in the amount of 3 if you want to start it longer.
After you finish the round and join, you will cut the yarn and slip stitch the new color in the chain space. I will send you the link for attaching a new color.
how do we turn this into a scarf

@tjw1963 Oh, okay, I understand. Thank you anyway. I really do enjoy watching your
videos-- they have helped me so much! Since you have made each step so
clear-- I'm going to try the rectangle granny you have demonstrated here.
Thanks so much! :-)

What do you mean by chain 13 plus 3?
sexystarbuddy100 2 years ago
The chain 3 counts as the first stitch.

I was just wondering what type of yarn and color you're using... thanks
bluechica009 2 years ago
The color may be a pink 4-ply and possibly a Lion Brand. I no longer have the label.
tjw1963 2 years ago
Thanks for posting. Is this a good shape to use to make an afghan also?. I've always used the granny square.
