To all the people saying they should call 911 before getting the driver to stop, I have this to say.
Seconds count. If somebody is choking to death, should you call 911 first or perform the Heimlich? Seconds count when operating a motor vehicle, drunk or not. It would have taken more than 5 minutes for the cops to get there. In that 5 minutes, the bus could have rolled, driven into a crowded highway & crashed, any number of things. Sometimes STOP is the best option. 911 can wait until then

I don't know who to be pissed off at more - this idiot woman who got drunk and endangered a busload of kids, or her scumbag lawyer for dumbing down her sentence like that. A few weekends jail and home confinement? That's such bullshit.
Makes you hope that lawyers like this will eventually be on the business end of a drunk driver - maybe they'll rethink the whole business of getting drunk drivers off light during the hospital stay.

There's no way this happened if she only blew a .15... That's not even that drunk at all. Those kids freaked out over nothing, trying to act like it was "terrifying." I've driven around with MUCH more intoxicated people, and it was always a blast.

That punishment isn't severe enough. Selfish bitch was only thinking of herself (hence why she felt the need to get hammered before her physically and mentally undemanding job) and some of those really little kids were probably traumatized by the incident.
