  • I have never seen so much fuckin' around in my life. If I didn't know better I'd say you guys were union.

  • 1:18 ... I just shat my pants...

  • @tallfarmboy

    NO KIDDING!!!

  • Like if you thought one of the tractors was going to fall through the ice.

  • Im sure if it ran someone would be in it. think u guys. if it doesnt run having somebody in it does no good.

  • useless attempt. rule no. 1: without friction, no transportation.

  • who hire thAT MORONS LOL...fuckin shit!!!

  • Dumb question: What were these guys doing with dozers on ice to begin with????

  • type in "ski crashes" in the youtube search and click the video with stars in the title to be shocked!

  • let me guess , the challenger driver had got it stuck and then walked home with the keys in his pocket .....

  • Has it occurred to anyone that trying to crank the stuck machine would be nearly impossible without means of heating the block first, kinda hard to plug a block heater in in the middle of the frozen sea

  • @Fentanyl3 Well said, not many would understand that up north in the cold, diesels have a very hard time starting. I'm just curious as to why they didn't have a second dozer there helping?

  • i can see the insurance clame now

  • this just has bad news written all over it...I cant say I blame them for not putting a guy in the other machine...its already halfway sunk...couple more cracks and sploosh you are under water and covered by ice. Insurance for the win.

  • tractors dont swim where do you hire morons like this ?

  • id be driving that dozer with door wide open!

  • @ituned I Ice Fish, any time I drive on the ice my windows are wide open. Its rare that I drive on ice though.

  • Hold on there fellas. My S-10 will yank that outta there.

  • häha_sUcht_mÁl_Ñäch:_geldeasy_aûf_gÓòglÉ

  • He shoulda shank panked on the flip skin. Hooked the ploorah UNDER the O-rah, hit second gear and the hard mack would be on the tinker-top! Seriously tho. Guy in 2nd machine woulda helped.

  • why dont you use the stuck one to aid in the recovery!! ??

  • whos idea is it to put 1000 tons of steel and iron on top of a frozen sea??? STUPID!!

  • get your head out of your ass if the challenger was under power the first time it was pulled it would have been out

  • That Challenger paid dearly for that one. Reminds me when I was a kid at my cousins house. My uncle said do NOT take the snowmobile out on the lake, but my cousin did and went through, and it sank down about 25'. Scared, he went home and got one of the Deere 70's to bring back and ??? because he was scared and not thinking straight. Guess what happened when my uncle went to the barn and saw my cousin wasn't lying about sinking the Deere and the snowmobile. CLOBBERING TIME!!!

  • aparantly the stuck dozer had frozen deisel,

  • insane

  • yeah i would have a guy in the stuck bull dozer so it helps walk out

  • idiot

  • Good video, you wouldn't need a person in the Challenger. A lot of equipment has a way to release the brakes so it free wheels for situations like this. Granted it's frozen, but a dozer can still pull it. Challengers are great for moving dirt, they are as fast as 627's and don't get stuck near as easy. Used a lot more in recent years with stuff not being built in ideal soil.

  • holy shit these morons should work for o'hares theyd fit right in with those retards!

  • why is the cat not running

  • Amazing!! I would have liked to see the outcome!

  • what were you trying to do out there in the first place...?

  • that a long falll

  • it may just be something im not catching, but if that is really a frozen sea, why would you take a really heavy dozer out on the ice when you clearly can see that one tractor had already sunk? unless its not very deep of the ice is really thick?

  • that is ridiculous

why is noone in the cab of the challenger

  • that is ridiculous

  • That dozer operator knows what he's doing,He had no help!!

  • laugh he is wating for some one who know better how to drive second dozer

  • cremove the snow under the wheel of cat

  • someone should drive the other dozer

  • а это не в 90-х в России на дальнем востоке? похожая ситуация была , кажется Чайбуха работала там.

  • WHOA WHOA WHOA

  • Wouldnt the rubber tracks freeze and break in those kind of conditions?? I'm not an operator, so I dont know these things. It just seems odd to me to have a challenger there. Arent Challengers meant for working in fields of soft soil??

  • @bumoffhtestreet snow is soft too

  • @GWR4079 Yeah but thats not snow, its ice. Ice is by no means soft. Metal tracks should get better traction on ice than rubber ones

  • had a cat 525 log skidder sittin on bellypans in three feet of florida swamp.. now that my friends is fun

  • They actually get paid for this asisine operation of equipment? If the owner was on site definitely a vulnerable market

  • Why do they need those in Antarctica?! And how it still can be operated in these weather conditions.. I thought only Russians can do that :D

  • na honde foii isso ai ??

  • that looks fucking cold

  • God D*mit it would take half of that time if there was the other guy in challenger...

  • @SAHKUHEMMO do you really think it would of started? Apparently this thing was left over night in the ice.. Id like to see you get in there and start it

  • @mattmatt115 wow all these people on here claiming to be opperators and yet somany of them dont know about cold weather conditions, COME ON GUYS! I've lived in southern ariznona where the coldest youll EVER see it get is only 33 deg. and i even i know youd never get that thing started with frozen oil and fuel! if the ice around it has refrozen then OBVIOUSLY its been there at least overnight

  • @cgspeeddemon1 Mate you'll always get heaps of experts on here telling you how to do shit. Tell them to put their money where their mouth is and put their own clip on here. I had a 330C stuck in a dam 2 nights ago up to the top of the counterweight PISSSSEED me off but oh well.

  • what the fuck are these tractors doing over there, in the first place

  • Now that's a display of power.

  • get in the other tractor and help

  • I was in the D7 the first time it went out. I was close and only had a tow strap. I asked for a cable or anything else. I broke the strap and the night shift had to get it out. It is in Antarctica about 12 miles south of McMurdo. As I recall it was 25 to 30 below with 30 MPH plus winds and a storm coming. It had to be pulled out the way it was because it was surrounded by melt pools. I dropped the D7 in 11 times that day. I would do it again.

  • wow thats wierd and awsome. to the tractors, its slush but to the people its ice

  • ich denke mal das problem liegt darin das die challanger nict mehr an geht da der diesel eingefroren ist

  • im challenger muss auch einer sitzen und fahren, weil durch die stehenden ketten des challengers is das wie eine angezogene bremse

  • Why oh why do the comments have to sink to the level shown below! My 5 year old grandson would LOVE this clip but how could I possibly show him? Is it not possible to comment without the anger and four letter words? They arent clever, and dont prove a thing......apart from lack of grey cells! Grow up guys!

  • if you had someone in the second tractor there is a risk it goes deeper.... i think they know what they are doing !!

  • Its un safe to put a man on the other what if the ice breaks the man will die for a tractor a tractor can be made but not that man so why hatin on why hes not getting in

  • Lameee

  • -20° C ???

  • BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • How the hell did the D9 driver fit in his cab, cos he must have nuts the size of beachballs!!!!!!!

  • Stupid!! put a man in the second tractor for petes sake!

  • @roereborn thats what i said. idiots

  • @roereborn hey man im betting that by the time they got that D9 out there that thing was jelled up like crayz...no chance of starting in that enviroment

  • @roerebornhey man im betting that by the time they got that D9 out there that thing was jelled up like crayz...no chance of starting in that enviroment

  • @roereborn

I have a strong feeling that it wouldn't start up anyway...

  • @roereborn

The engine and transmission took water, not to mention the "clement" antarctica weather.

For those wondering what it was doing on ice, well where's an ice-road (or ice airstrip for that matter) located?

For more explanation, search youtube with the following words: "frozen challenger antarctica".

  • @roereborn that cat challenger was in there more than likely for more than a week would you start your car if the fan was frozen? (had ice keeping it from spinning) i wouldnt becuase the ice more than likely wouldnt break and might damage the cooling fan creating an unbalance and a vibration to the motor. or if it did it would most likely damage the motor or radiator. it was smarter to leave the cat shut off in neautral pulling it than to start it.

  • @roereborn @roereborn Do ya think the stuck tractor will start?

  • Looks like they plant wheat pretty deep there, ha ha!! Maybe his air cart is somewhere under the ice????

  • why isnt anyone driving the tractor

  • i would have to say being frozen out on that water that it would not start anyway.

  • WoW!!! That's some crazy shit! CAT POWER!

  • its just a cat

  • le plus fou tant qua moi cest loperateur du bull dozer pas stressé.

  • For what do you need a tractor there?

  • what are they doing on the ice in the first place?

  • that guy wants to die

  • I swear. Start the other dozer and both go. What the hell is just pulling on the one gonna help?

  • Roughin it out in alaska

  • why that guy dont help dozer driver???

  • wooo que poder del tractor

  • Stupid small dozer Driver

  • That is in front of Mcmurdo Station Antarctica on the sea ice there is an anual ice road put in for the science parties to travel on. sometimes there are ice lenses that they break through.

  • Start the other dozer and pull it with the one that aint stuck and the other stuck can help out when drivien dumb fucks u are about to lose 2 insted of saving one

  • @256dallas well just maybe the dozer that was stuck was there for a while nd the battery was dead did u ever think of the there DUMB FUCK!

  • @foxracingfan125 here ya stupid cunt where is there a second dozer DUMB FUCK

  • @tonyr620 A Cat Challenger isn't a dozer it's in the same class as normal tractors they are tracked to disperse their weight and to save against soil erosion! Making them soil savers which is important in the plain states where they risk loosing the top soil to wind. There tracked tractors and no till drilling is saving many farms from being wiped out. You're all a bunch of idiots!

  • @Carncat03 can you not fukin read you stupid bastard i said it was a tracked tractor ya fukin retard. i think i would know considering i drive a class on tracks ya sad fuk. go make urself useful and suck a dick good boy

  • @Carncat03 did i ask where you work or what you drive if the truth be known you wouldnt drive your finger up your arse you stupid typical american prick. are you on sure about your sexuality you memtion dick an awful lot you must really like it son. now could you please point out where i said there was two dozers obviously you cant read the argument i was having with that other stupid brain dead american cunt is that there is only one dozer so kindly fuk right off an stop annoyin me plz an thanx

  • The Dozer should have had a ripper shank put in uside down and cable connected to the ripper tooth pin he would have gained 5ft of lift when pulling. Been there done it.

  • @wrbowcal well.. they cant use tooths there... couz its too dangerous and they can break the Ice...any time

  • someone should get in the other one i agree...i bet they would have gotten out faster

  • thats what I was thinking... and I think that thing has a hydraulic transmission... so it wont move unless the transmission is engaged... unlike a typical manual transmission with a clutching system.

  • what was it doin out there in the first place

  • WOW ahahaha

  • nice:)

  • why duznt sum 1 get in the other and start it up and give the oth cat a hand and they cn both drive out at the same time

  • the challanger has probabily got frozen diesel and won't start !

  • add winterizer

  • And where on erth that "excavator driver" was heading over the see ice? to Russia?

It's sound funky dozer on see ice.

  • thats not entirely true Mr ROCKIT. please here me out. i am a mechanical engineer as well as growing up around dozers tractors trucks and numerous other farm machinery and implements. when your rippers are embedded into the ground there is a constant pressure applied to your hydraulic cylinders and lines. so when you are pulling with your rippers it is the some pressure but you are still correct in the fact that when that constant pressure is changed with on/off pressure it does wear out cont..

  • er, no.

I'm currently operating a JD trackloader, Takuchi excavator, Ford and NH 180' excavators.

I love that your name states you have the maturiaty of a 2yr old.

  • xD not bad

  • haben die den eigentlich jemals wieder rausbekommen???

  • English:

Did they ever get it out?

Yes they did get it out.

Apparently a mechanic who worked on the CAT that has been rescued posted here also.

So it has been rescued and put into a workshop to thaw out.

The CAT is guaranteed back in action since a while.

  • Experience says it all clatterpillar. Tell em how it is!!!;)

  • this part you have to see to believe... in reverse the slack in the tracks bunches up under the dozer , and on hard ground or ice they bite in very aggressively and you might get some traction .....but like I said ...not the right way....but a challenger in ice water isn't the right way either :))

  • I'm not saying its the right way....but I have an excavating , trucking company and help farm 6500 acres .... we've had an seen more things stuck is worse ways than you can imagine....I know that D7 will pull better with the chain over the blade because it lifts higher than the ripper and you will get some weight transfer on to the D7

  • nobody drivi cat E95?s...........like a cow

  • thats why the hydraulics have these GREAT things called relief valves....so the pressure thats pushing back gets relieved from the cylinders....when we push stumps out all you're doing is lifting and pushing all day long they love it...:)

  • cool video best video

  • looked mildly to moderately dangerous

  • im sure that it would of been alot easier if someone was in the challenger helping it along so tht the cat aint doin all the work

  • yeah that's what i was thinking

  • i was thinking that too!

now who over there would have thought of that?

looked like they were in antarctica by the way, maybe they were focused on the cold

  • Hey cammy.

If you scroll down in the comments, you will find your answer.

The guys operating this machinery know what they are doing and they know most of the extreme situations and how to get out of them, if they can, which was difficult in this scenario.

The problem there was just, that the CAT is dead (engine not running), being half a block of ice and temperatures way below zero (like -20 to -40 deg. celsius) so there was just no way to get it started.

    Take care!

  • thank you for telling us why they weren't driving the challenger

  • wish i could've seen the end.

  • Should've left the Challenger running!!

  • so wot appenned ???? are they still there?

  • Comment removed

  • I saw this on the discovery channel not long ago. the challenger was creating ice roads for semis and it went through. it wasnt there long but by the time they came to get it out it was basically frozen solid. starting the engine was out of the question.

  • Operator couldnt drive the challenger happens a lot people put big machines on soft ground and they sink like anything would

  • Driving that D9 must take some guts.

  • @Rozexcavatordriver man thats an understatement lol

  • @Rozexcavatordriver ITS A D7R

  • is the challenger defect ?

  • why wasnt their no one in the challenger

  • its not deep :) nice

  • nice capetillar man

  • WHERE???

  • Can someone tell me why the challenger was out there in the first place?

  • thats wat i was wondering

  • probably grading the ice for driving on

  • Incredible!!!!

  • Just put some ice melt down and wait for it to melt.

  • Someone get in the challenger and give the dozer a hand!!!!!!!!!!

  • wen the cat challenger is half out take the fukn attachment off!!!, get the challenger out and then pull the attachment out backwards u fukn idiots, hoook it up and go hm,

  • who CHALLENGER do on ice?

  • funny icebreaker ^^

  • Thats not a messs, no mud, they must have froze b4 pullling the unit and the cad is showing, that an easy one, they should have used a winch tractor!

  • what a mess

  • why not use a longer strap and have the big Cat get a head start and use momentum to help free the Challenger?

  • Because at 25 tons, all you're going to do is send a chain or cable or strap flying into the cabs of both tractors when it breaks. D 7's ain't light !

  • how did they get the cat challenger out there?

  • looooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • what size is that dozer?

  • looks about a d8

  • Ice Wins

  • was sol das werden wenn das fertig ist???

  • theyre own fault. ice is only 3 dollars a kilo at all service stations

  • how do you mean what is that challenger doing anyway whats the attatchment for?

  • That's an old Challenger.

  • i like were the dozer went in the water
