i wanna do this a job.if i cant be a smoke jumper i wanna try and be a firefighter. cant wait till i turn 18

@Slayersamone do you know some of the qualifications to be a firefighter besides a highschool diploma?

@CampinCarl354 well if you go work for a city dept. you have to put in an application and go to the academy. pass a bunch of tests and physical tests (i guess). but if your a Volunteer you have to be 18 to be a full time member and you get your education as you go along with the dept. but in order to go into a house fire you must have fire fighter one. but thats about it if you want to fight wildfires you have to be certified. not hard... took my class and im sertified

im only 16 and im a volunteer firefighter and we have to be a fire 2 to go in fires unless we have fire 1 and are hazmat certified

@pizaz101 that might be because your still under 18? that doesnt make sense to me though, volunteer firemen should be able to go into fires
