@mrgearfreak1997 ell, I'd say either Dean Koontz's "The Taking," Brian Keene's "The Rising" (and it's sequel, "City of the Dead"), "Heart-Shaped Box" by Joe Hill, The Pine Deep Trilogy by Jonathan Maberry, or "Bag of Bones" by Stephen King. Also, "IT" by Stephen King.
Okay, I get not liking the book, I really do; but why the hell didn't you mention that it starts off with a seventy-page chase scene! You enjoyed the spearing, but not the chase directly after it? Come on! Everything after that opening night was a steady downhill tumble into 'yawn' until the ending, but as far as pulse-pounding beginnings, that was a pretty solid one and worth a mention.
@TheManInTheAlley Dude, I don't think the chase scene honestly corrects the boredom the book provides. You can't justify all the boring shit for that. Sorry to say hahah.
