the destroyers of Islam... turkey. They turned islam into an empire, about money, and power expansion, whereas under the arab it was about revolution, and enlightenment!
@issareign really ? hahaha..ehem, I tought you were (the arabs) the sick people because to have an prophet, you know, sick civilazios have had prophets... and you the arabs are the one who thinks about money...destroyin Mohammeds birth house and making a hotel, or mekka using like a money depot..etc... look at palesinta, what have arabia done for them? A NOTHING and Turkey did always something to help, (seljuks, ottomans, republic of turkey) for bosnia, palestina etc...
@yusuf1987 yeaaaaaaa, i really don't care for the saudi's either. they are not exactly anointed by the arabs. they, like the turks before them, were imposed upon the arabs. the arabs haven't had their own nation since the mongols and turks invaded. before then, they did. once turkey came into the picture, it was just another empire, indistinguishable from anyone from europe or asia.
@issareign Bahaha, although somethings may seem dark in History, sometimes war and pain is needed, though unwanted. Everything has a dark side to it. And if you ask me, the destroyers of Islam are the people who bomb and kill, using it's good name.
@TriangleGenix the people who bomb and kill, thats a bit vague, don't you think? why would they bomb, who are they bombing,,,,, oh... and i didnt ask you.
@issareign hahahahah fucking idiot the turks did not make an islamic empire they made a turkish empire but they were muslims, that was what it was all about btw the arab countries would be like turkey today if they didnt revolt for "freedom" the ottomans united muslims as they occupied alot of regions everywhere you fuckign asshole learn some history you bitch
@sa4ir It was an empire that functioned under the guise of religious theocracy. I never said that they were "true" Muslims. All I meant was that they took the Arabian cultural equivalent of the Renaissance and turned into just another typical empire out to gain wealth and power. Every empire has its laurels upon which it rests its underlying desire to expand, control, conquer, and subjugate. Its all the same shit.
War music has three versions, just like the music for any civilization, the music fitting to your current technological progress (and not theirs for some reason.)
Jannisaries were really good at first, Ottomans couldn't expand their borders that much without them but later they caused lots of troubles and became one of the reasons of the fall of Ottomans
The Ottoman empire was built on the power of Slaves; Janissaries were slave soldiers, there were actually relatively few Turkish corps in the Ottoman army.
They werent really slaves as the western world would see it... they were young european boys conscripted and taught Muslim culture and trained specially in infantry war, smarter ones could pursue academic posts, they still have their fierce fighting techniques in Chechnya.
Avenger of the Trojans, slayer of Dracula and forger of a mighty and peaceful empire with the world capital at its heart. Mehmed II is a historical legend.
Mehmet II was the greatest of all the Ottoman Turks, He was the one to take the last resort of Constatinople, as the yewel on his crown. He became known as Mehmet the conqueror and was the first muslim to truly embrace the power of the bombard.
Ottaman means head crushers by the way. not a nice name for them.
Ottoman, doesn't mean head crushers. Originally it's Son of Osman. Osman refers to a mythical bird or a "dragon." Ottoman is just a name of a muslim Turkic tribe.
i agree; one time i got really irritated and changed his theme such that everytime he was in the diplomacy screen "tunak tunak tun" was playing in the background LOL
Supprising that the Ottoman emipre wasn't aded in the original civ IV. After all, they played a great role in history, and were quite powerfull and advanced.
In all my years of playing Civ, I learned one thing: Always give the Turks what they want.

@yusuf1987 Don't forget the Arabian empire was once the biggest of his time, whiteout it we (or at least I) would still be stuck in middle age Europe

True, very true.

@Montezadma True, but eastern concept of slavery is very different from western slavery institutions.
Being a slave made you a subject to your owner, however you still would have all the rights as a normal human being.
