As for the Pierce foul call, Rudy T said "Oh, I don't agree with that one." On the Perkins pass, I do that when driving: Put my arms up, then slap the air.
Shit... Had the Rockets won this we would have beaten Phoenix (we did in '94 and '95 why not '93?) and since we swept the Bulls in '93 regular season, we would have had a chance to steal a ring from MJ and we probably would have been the first to have 3 straight championships.
NO you wouldn't have.... Seattle got SCREWED in game 7 against Phoenix BIG TIME.... check that game 7 stat sheet and look at the foul differential... Suns had 64 free throw attempts in that game!! Scoring 57 points from the line.... NBA wanted a Barkely -Jordan match-up and Seattle got JOBBED!! I mean it was pathetic
Wow imagine if there was social media and internet blogs like there are today. Ohh the outrage that would ensue..lol. That last call wasn't even close.
It's a damn shame what happened to the Rockets this year. If they win this series, it would've potentially cleared up a lot of hypotheticals that we discuss now.
Refs did not decide this game... yeah there were some bad calls but in the end it swung both ways....
-------------
No, you are wrong. It swung the Sonics way because of those 3 bad calls and the Sonics went on to lose to the Suns. It should have been Rockets v. Bulls that year.
Even Sonics players admitted that the calls were shady.
Those three calls could have very well cost them this game anyone who argues that doesn't know anything about basketball, those were key possessions and the refs killed the rockets
Refs did not decide this game... yeah there were some bad calls but in the end it swung both ways.... plus this was not the only series these 2 teams met.... Seattle swept them in 96 .... I"m not saying Rockets were not a great team because they were.... I"m just saying for whatever reason the Sonics owned them at this time... Even Hakeem admitted it...
Not saying the bad calls were the end all say all but they didnt hurt. In 93', Rockets were still missin two key pieces in Cassell and Elie.
In 96', Rockets were a good team but they were not at the level they were the year before.
They had a bundle of injuries during the season and basically hobbled into the playoffs. Elie missed most of the season that year played in only 45 games, Drexler missed 30 games had mid season surgery, Cassell missed over 20 games that year including 18 in a row.
Yeah but 97 is when we started declining because Wally Walker picked up Jim McIlvaine as our center...LOL... we also lost Askew who was a defensive enforcer and we picked up Terry Cummings who was near the end of this career..... Kemp was TICKED off over the whole Mcilvaine pickup and wasn't the same and then of course he was traded the next year for Vin Baker... OH MY GOD... still cant believe that trade.... but yeah man Wally Walker tore it all apart....
@2008sALINAs yeah that was a really good series. i was 8 yrs old when i watched it lol. im surprised they even came back to tie it at 3-3 when they were down 3-1. really good series though. props to houston.
Yeah you guy's did... I remember that series went 7 games .. It was close... 99-96 was the final score in game 7.... One big thing that hurt us was getting that weak center Jim MciLvaine... We also signed Terry Cummings that year who was near the end... The Sonics GM Walley Walker started making STUPID decisions... Losing Vincent Askew was a big mistake also... The following year we lost Kemp and got Vin Baker... LMAO... he was so soft... Wally Walker destroyed the team
So lets see in 94 the suns took you to game 7 in the semi finals and you has homecourt?? But the bulls beat the suns in game 6 and didnt even have homecourt..So all im hearing is BULLSHIT..94 Bulls had taken the knicks to game 7 with out Jordan and took you guys to game 7 with out homecourt advantage..What do you think would happen if Jordan was there..The only chance the rockets would have had was 95 because of the BULLS lack of interior D..But still Jordan would have got someone...
Who cares what the rockets did to the bulls in the reg season..The jazz beat the bulls in 98 twice in the regular season..The reg season play is irrelevant..Point is you got bounced out shitty cvall or not..The rockets shouldnt have let this go to 7 if they were the true winner..So its all water under the bridge..Jordan would not have lost..
WTF!! @ 1:54...effin horrible. He is just there and throws the ball up backwards...
I remember this game now. It was the worst reffing I had seen in like a ten year span. I wonder if those refs that got busted for cheating/lying reffed this game?
Houston should have won this game and they were rolling..they would have steamed the Suns and given the Bulls and Jordan a run for their money. Big time.
Possibly looking at 3 titles for Hakeem (that is, unless Jordan decided NOT to play baseball and come back to avenge the loss ;)
Ooooh. Imagine that? Rockets beat Bulls and Jordan never "retires" so to speak. History re-written.
Man I have never even heard of this it should probably a game worthy of being mentioned but the NBA does not want us to know about it because they were reffing in Seattles favor.
Wow I didnt start watching basketball till the 95 playoff but I heard how good houston was in 1993 (hakeem did finish 2nd in mvp behind barkley). Houston got cheated in this game for sure. 3 horrible calls. The refs suck so badly (pause). Its sad that we never got to have a Rockets-Bulls finals cuz Hakeem was the best center in the 90s & I believe he would of out done Jordan in the finals.
OH WOW FIXED REFS. I COULDA CLEARLY SAW IF I WAS A REF..Fucking sonics..rockets shoulda beat them and beat bulls. Cuz Olajuwon can block Jordan if..if jordan drives. I HATE U FUCKING REFS
it would of been interesting falkner..I think we could of taken the bulls..Mad Max always made Jordan work for everything he got and nobody on the Bulls frontline could guard Hakeem..we were a better defensive team than Phoenix was..I think we could of won
yeah i after i wrote that comment i regreted it, 93 rockets were pretty solid team, thats what i relised bulls would have bigtime problems covering hakeem, but mj was a man possessed in 93 finals goin for that 3peat
