I had a very fluffy calico that was like these. We thought it weird. I wonder if she was a mix? We just found her in my older sisters complex. We called her 'pose-able kitty' because she would go limp when we held her and let us move her limbs and say like that. But she was not colored like a rage doll. Fur looks dead on. She got beat up by other cats often, but my step mother refused to have a indoor 'potty' cat.

@mariannachan I have a Ragdoll, I've never met a Birman but I would say go for the Ragdoll mine is honestly the sweetest, most loving cat ever. If you like a cat you can carry around all the time like a baby and one who will wait for you outside the bathroom door then a Ragdoll is for you. I know a Ragdoll is bigger than a Birman (they are one of the largest breeds) and their coats may be more satisfactory if you like a cat that doesn't shed or matt much. Hope that helps!

I have owned both kinds. . similar in nature. Ragdolls are laid backt. Ragdolls love to be held want to be around people. maine coons are inedependent, they will attack if they are threatened. Ragdolls are less likely to attack should never be left outside. Radgolls fur is softer i ve often wanted to see if a ragdoll co-exist with a maine coon cat. They are about the same size.

They get along with all other cats or dogs. They are large cats though, so keep in mind that if they are larger than the other companion cat, they are likely to dominate the household.

Ragdolls definitely are talkers! I find the males more so. I have two, brother and sister... my male, Bailey... never shuts up! He is always talking to us, we talk back and he answers (meows), I swear he's a human in a cats body.

Yes, they get along well with about any other cat. Keep in mind that they are very large.

A good breeder will charge between $600 up to $2000 for a ragdoll cat. The higher range is usually for a ragdoll that the owner is purchasing to show or to breed. The lower cost ragdoll is for neutered/spayed ragdoll cats that will NOT be entered into show competition.

I find that if I brush them regularly, they do not shed. I would imagine that if you do not brush them, then in the winter, yes they would shed quite a bit.

Mine doesnt go limp when you have him in your arms.. He goes limp when you pick him up for iike 2 seconds before realising he actually doesnt want to lay in your arms. But he loves to lay close to you and to be around all the time since they are very curious. Although he often does things he's not allowed to do, everybody loves him :) They can charm you with their looks.

I have a ragdoll siamese mix, and he lives outside, but ocassionaly comes into the cluttered garage to nap or chow...and he is sooo not aggressive! Mine sheds. A lot. Stroke him down his back, and your hand is full of shedding.

Your two ragdolls are beautiful. This is a very informative video. I have a young ragdoll and birman who are very good friends. My ragdoll is quite a character, he is playful, curious, and can be verbal at times. My ragdoll follows me when we take walks, just like a dog. He likes to play hide-and-seek during our walks. He coots if I take too long to seek him. My birman does not like to follow, instead he plays on the property and eventually returns home.

Ruben is mellow but Felix is kind of aggressive.

Just a quick fact: Ragdoll cats are very human-like. They respond and behave like we humans do.

My ragdoll cats do have claws. We have 3 scratching posts in the house. I keep their claws cut very close. We also have windows with screens in the windows. They have not damaged the furniture. They are not aggressive or territorial like most cats.

Beautiful cats! We are also proudly owned by two Ragdolls. Andy (seal point mitted, 15 yrs.) and Mandy (blue point, 12 yrs.) are brother and sister from different litters. Absolutely LOVE the breed! Very laid back, friendly and super with kids.
