I had a very fluffy calico that was like these. We thought it weird. I wonder if she was a mix? We just found her in my older sisters complex. We called her 'pose-able kitty' because she would go limp when we held her and let us move her limbs and say like that. But she was not colored like a rage doll. Fur looks dead on. She got beat up by other cats often, but my step mother refused to have a indoor 'potty' cat.
I'm trying to convince my parents to let me get a ragdoll cat, but they hate the hair flying everywhere in the air and in the food and stuff. I've read on some websites that ragdoll cats shed les than other cats, is this true?
I have a seal bi-color Ragdoll called Miss Phoebe and she runs our house and heart - she is 16-1/2 yrs old and is retired as a show cat... Luv her to bits xx
No offence but, I seriously think your cats could do with a little grooming. Having said that they are both adorable and would scrub up nicely! I have a Ragdoll too and she has all the qualities you describe.
@mariannachan I have a Ragdoll, I've never met a Birman but I would say go for the Ragdoll mine is honestly the sweetest, most loving cat ever. If you like a cat you can carry around all the time like a baby and one who will wait for you outside the bathroom door then a Ragdoll is for you. I know a Ragdoll is bigger than a Birman (they are one of the largest breeds) and their coats may be more satisfactory if you like a cat that doesn't shed or matt much. Hope that helps!
We have just picked up our two ragdoll (mitted seal) kittens. In just 24hrs I was able to record enough footage to make a nice video of them to share. Check it out on my channel.
Awww...they're so lovely. I lost my ragdoll mix to cancer last winter. He looked very much like your Silia. He was the most loving, sweet, funny animal I have ever known. I miss him terribly. Your cats are beautiful; I hope they stay happy and healthy a long, long time.
I have owned both kinds. . similar in nature. Ragdolls are laid backt. Ragdolls love to be held want to be around people. maine coons are inedependent, they will attack if they are threatened. Ragdolls are less likely to attack should never be left outside. Radgolls fur is softer i ve often wanted to see if a ragdoll co-exist with a maine coon cat. They are about the same size.
He's adorable, you can see him on facebook, he is a big star on facebook!!!are you interested? Then maybe we can talk there and share some more pictures!
They get along with all other cats or dogs. They are large cats though, so keep in mind that if they are larger than the other companion cat, they are likely to dominate the household.
Next month I'll have a kitty... I like ragdolls, cause I want an affectionate cat... but I like them to meow and talk a lot, ragdolls aren't so much talkers, right?
Ragdolls definitely are talkers! I find the males more so. I have two, brother and sister... my male, Bailey... never shuts up! He is always talking to us, we talk back and he answers (meows), I swear he's a human in a cats body.
A good breeder will charge between $600 up to $2000 for a ragdoll cat. The higher range is usually for a ragdoll that the owner is purchasing to show or to breed. The lower cost ragdoll is for neutered/spayed ragdoll cats that will NOT be entered into show competition.
Now, with the "shed very little" part. Are you serious? My two Ragdolls who i just mentioned shed like you WOULDN'T believe, i am constantly picking up hair.
I find that if I brush them regularly, they do not shed. I would imagine that if you do not brush them, then in the winter, yes they would shed quite a bit.
Mine doesnt go limp when you have him in your arms.. He goes limp when you pick him up for iike 2 seconds before realising he actually doesnt want to lay in your arms. But he loves to lay close to you and to be around all the time since they are very curious. Although he often does things he's not allowed to do, everybody loves him :) They can charm you with their looks.
Also Sophie is a Pure Breed Blue Point Ragdoll Cat - Not the other kind, like Lynix or something like that, this is a PURE blue point ragdoll cat. Trust me on this, I got 2 of em, and a total of 4 ragdoll cats XD, love em to death!
I have a ragdoll siamese mix, and he lives outside, but ocassionaly comes into the cluttered garage to nap or chow...and he is sooo not aggressive! Mine sheds. A lot. Stroke him down his back, and your hand is full of shedding.
Ragdolls would probably get along well with siamese cats. But be warned, the ragdoll cat is very large, and their playful manner may intimidate the siamenese cat.
Your two ragdolls are beautiful. This is a very informative video. I have a young ragdoll and birman who are very good friends. My ragdoll is quite a character, he is playful, curious, and can be verbal at times. My ragdoll follows me when we take walks, just like a dog. He likes to play hide-and-seek during our walks. He coots if I take too long to seek him. My birman does not like to follow, instead he plays on the property and eventually returns home.
I have ragdoll cats too. One is a blue torbie bi-color and a blue lynx point. They're hilarious, and they are big goofballs. They dont exactly hunt either... they're afraid of my budgie lol
I am actually allergic to cats, but I never had any reaction to her as I used to bath her nearly every weekend and she grew to tolerate it quite well. She had the most amazing way of cuddling me when I picked her up, she would put her arms around my neck and pad my shoulders while canoodling into my neck...god I miss her so much!!

They are absolutely adorable :O). I am getting a Ragdoll kitten soon. I'll have to wait 12 weeks (i.e. 3 months) before I can take him home (as kittens musn't be taken away from their mothers before this time). I am super excited ... can't wait ;O).
My ragdoll cats do have claws. We have 3 scratching posts in the house. I keep their claws cut very close. We also have windows with screens in the windows. They have not damaged the furniture. They are not aggressive or territorial like most cats.
Beautiful cats! We are also proudly owned by two Ragdolls. Andy (seal point mitted, 15 yrs.) and Mandy (blue point, 12 yrs.) are brother and sister from different litters. Absolutely LOVE the breed! Very laid back, friendly and super with kids.

hey, your cats are super awesome! very cute. my friend Lisa has two ragdoll cats - Ruben and Felix. They are 4 years old and are brothers.
