Your linkage on your A.S. looks different then mine, i went with part number losb4204 for the lst xxl. On the throttle side i have 2 set barrells front and rear with spring up front and yours looks like you have just one blue on the throttle side, just wondering how you set yours up compared to how i set mine up? let me know when you can? nice vid btw.
@rz1a I've only owned Losi's but I did have a friend that we used to run together where he owned a Savage XL. IMO, if you want something easy to work on go with the Losi. Either way I don't think you can go wrong. The Flux is electric correct? Your talking two different ball games unless you plan on making it an E-LST.
@KILLAFORILLA15 If I had to guess maybe $250 on upgrades solely. I did convert it to an LST 2 A-arms, hubs, 20mm white wheels. You can see it in my videos. That cost me a little bit more but. I can't recall if I have the HD main chassis in this video. Great durability, just avoid vans and trees, it happened to me! LOL. I keep saying I'm going to do an updated video. I need to do it.
@Geofiveo i finally got it running the person i had it stored with didn't know how to use it and messed it up so i just brought it to my local rc shop and had id repaired... apparently almost every moving part was replaced :(
Hi. I have both electric(Traxxas e-revo) and Nitro(Hpi Savage X SS) Electric is fast but its boring!!.. Nitro is still the best gotta love the sound and the smoke = )
@mAdAsZaC No it is not!!! I have driven through a few puddles but I wouldn't make it a regular habit. The reciver box is mounted high but is in no way waterproof.
Sorry, what do you buy for the shock towers and the engine brace? code you give the product code? and possibly a video of how to install the different things that you have because i think i might ruin my engine putting that on... :)
@MillionAirL Thanks for watching the vid. The product code for the engine brace is DYN7214B. Horizon Hobby and Overdrive RC carry it. As far as installing it its easy, just be sure to have a good 1/16 hex drive or allen wrench to remove the stock brace. Its torqued pretty good. There really is no way to ruin your engine installing it that I can think of. LMK if you have anymore questions.
@ghostrecon473 Well it depends. Do you have the patience for nitro? Do your reading on how to break in and tune your engine before even starting it up. Overall, it is a cool intro nitro IMO. This was my first nitro although I had been into RC before, electric only. Good luck, LMK if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer.
@TraxxasNoobie I never used the Losi 2.4 I'm sure it's fine. It depends on what u want ur radio to do. I wanted the Telemetry so I bought the DX3S. I think its a great system, some people say the temp is not accurate but I don't seem to have that problem. I haven't had any air leaks as of yet with my engine just my stock fuel filter and fuel lines. The power depends on what you're used to and what you want. I have gone up against Savage XLs that are faster. It's fast enough for me for now.
Don't use the primer button on the tank it ruins the seals on it. Probably why you're leaking nitro. Upgrade to the bigger fuel tank and dont ever use the plunger. Just pull the fuel hose off the muffler and blow on it if you need to prime the gas lines to the carb. Mine never leaks fuel I leave it in there for a week or more some times. Nice review. I got my throttle linkage to work by reinstalling it backwards LOL. Works pretty well actually. Can't believe that piece of crap fuel filter.
@x7string420x A method I've used instead of putting my mouth on the fuel tubes is to plug the stinger on your exhaust and rotate the pull/spin start. I do have the 220cc tank just haven't put it in yet. If this primer plunger goes bad I'm gonna plug it with a screw and use another priming method. In-line priming bubble or something.
@Geofiveo Yeah pluggin the pipe works too. I just got the LOSI 420 series rims for the LST 2. They fit on the Aftershock with adapters that losi sells. These rims can fit 40 series tires so i got some pro-line big joes's. I'm about to run to the sbop to get some thin CA and glue them on. Gettin more snow here today so perfect time to test them out. They're a bit smaller around and quite a bit wider than the stock tires. I can't wait to try em.
hi there m8 i have exact the same truck everything is the same and i also have a problem on throttle/linkage out of the box. is it possible that you can do a video on tuning the the aftershock LE m8?
@20kyel I'll be 100% honest. I suck at tuning so I can't provide any insight on that. I have a problem in general with minute adjustments. I'm working on it though. In some of my other videos people have pointed out that I sound to lean. I just got some good advice today that I might look into.
Thanks for the positive feedback. That's part of the reason I did it in case other people wanna get an idea of what's available. GIve people something to think about. Good luck on the purchase.
Yeah, I'm totally new to RC and nitro but I ended buying a 2nd one because I got tired of waiting for parts to be sent to me. Most the breakages were my own doing and not the truck. I purchased my 2nd one off ebay for $310 including shipping.
The part number at Horizon is SUL187. The difference between stock and the tuned was amazing. I won it off of eBay. I guess I didn't say anything about the pipe huh, oops.
Thanks for that part number. Did the yellow springs really help with the suspension/jumping? Also you mentioned the Sway braces, a quick Ebay search came up with nothing, you got a part number on that? Again thanks for the great review; I'm plan on upgrading slowly to see how each additional part helps. I probably shouldn't be but I’m little nervous about upgrading the spur gear, clutch bell, clutch shoes but I think you tube should help.
@beattms I think the yellow springs stiffened it up which is what I like. The spring rate is higher than the black springs that come stock. The sway brace P/N is LOSB2221. I'm still expirementing with them right now to figure out what is best. Righ now I believe I'm running the thin brace in the front and thick in the back. As far as the XXL spur, it's just made better. I had issues with the stock on (some self induced) and decided to switch.
Nice review. Question do got a part number for that crap trap fuel filter. I was wondering why I had fuel all over the place. I also noticed you put a tuned pipe, did you notice a diff over the stock one?

I forgot to tell you to keep tank empty when not in use because i find the nitro leaks into the crank and gets all over the one way.
