I thought the concrete computer was a gag gift for someone... I couldn't figure out why you were trying to get it to boot (I'm fairly certain that it would overheat in seconds) and then ripped the faceplate off it.
I've been watching geekgroup vids for i think a year to 1.5 years, and captain's vlogs for at least a year. I've watched almost all the captain's vlogs in existence and i've gone back to watch the available geekgroup vids from time to time. You guy's are absolutely amazing! I would love to visit sometime, but i really don't need a tour, cuz i know the building quite well. :) Can you believe though, i've yet to become a member and have never visited the forums? o.0 Here's to another year guys!
Can't believe it's been a whole year. I fondly remember what seems like only days ago watching you guys explore the building for the first time. It's amazing what you have accomplished. My only wish is that one day I can come down and share in the awesome that is thegeekgroup.
Congratulations on a year well spent, and many goals accomplished! I have spent many joyous hours watching the progress at the labs, wishing every second that I could be there, and I look forward to many more years of the Geek Group to come.. Happy New Year to you all, and much love and respect! -Steve
Congrats! I've been watching Captain's Blog for a couple of months and am still completely addicted. I helped form a hacker space in Minneapolis (Hack Factory) and then moved away, but the things you guys do (not to mention the stuff you acquire) blows me away.
After watching the geek group videos for the past year and a half. And following along with the captains blog for quite some time. Im glad to see that you guys have come this far and made the group what it is after k-zoo. I look forward to watching these videos far into the future.
I remember the first vids I saw of Captains blog in September I was like why is this a jerk talking about his broken car lol. Well I thought I would give it a shot and take a closer look and was impressed with what I saw, it took a few vids before I go to see Gemini and Thumper, in action. And the mess the place has been, it's amazing what you all have accomplished over the past year.
@amfan12 I grew up with G-Gauge live steam (My Dad's layout). I started with stationary steam engines and moved to HO as an adult. Dad just went up in scale, his are big enough to ride on now and the layout fills his yard. ;)
As one year gone on the Leonard St. Labs, we, as a collective geek group (no pun intended) have seen many wonderful, surprising, exciting, funny and informative things from The Geek Group. And I am probably joined by others in saying: "MANY MORE GEEKY AND WONDERFUL YEARS TO COME" Thank you: (forgive me if i forget anyone) Chris, Moose, Dave, Batman, Eakin, Kory, Steve, Liz, Red, Gibroni, Dave, Bill, The radio Guys, OMNI and EVERYONE else at The Geek Group. THE GEEKS SHALL INHERIT THE UNIVERSE!
Glad you like the recorder Chris. Just as another side note, the recorder is also a USB sound card and the combo ports take balanced 1/4 in addition to unbalanced.
What was the emergency run to Thumper in the middle of the night?

$7.10 locally for a 3/8 eye nut... You actually got a decent hardware store! Hard pressed to find one for much cheaper, even online.

My trains are HO-scale too. I haven't had a place to set them up for years! Maybe one of the basement rooms could be the train room? :D

A nice G Scale around the MDH would be pretty sweet. Just too bad G Scale tends to cost a fair bit more than others.
