  • So nice!

  • This is Atlantis But i i love this song to

    Thank you Hank!

  • They really messed this one up. It sounded way better when they didn't orchestrate it.

  • Switch A bit patchy

  • Have this one and a few others of Jessies as ring tones.

  • nagyon fasza

  • Back in the sixties we used to call it "music to walk into the cinema by"

  • I'm apache-less, I've been robbed.

  • WHERE'S APACHE?

  • holy sound .. if there are angels they are listening shadows ;P

  • this is wonderfull land by the shads

  • @philipelliman No it's not. It's 'Atlantis'.

  • the beautiful, ultra clean sound of electronic late fifties and early sixties was smooth ride out of your day to a far place of openness and clear sky!

  • This is Atlantis which, if I remember correctly, got to No 2 in the charts.

  • @BigglesWatch correct

  • May be they are the Shadows....but this is not Apache !

  • Sont plus tout jeunes mais sont toujours aussi bon. Prodigieux !

  • This Not APACHE

  • How much people in this place? OMG !

  • they dident even play apache

  • @Celtica111 : Agree !!

  • @spasticinbondage get a life and respect good music,so sad you are

  • I am sure that tis aint apache, now i do not remember which tune this was, but even this song is named incorrectly, this is also GREAT one from The Shadows.

  • @Rbnqss You are right. the name of this song is Atlantis.

  • @1981walter

the end of Rise and Fall of Flingel Bunt, then Atlantis & Shindig... sadly no Apache.

  • Everybody in this world knows this tune!!

That is something of an achievement!!!

    ed

  • apache je l'attends encore

  • the look like they have so much fun on stage. I love this live performance because of that.

  • Apache ?

  • I've been listening this instrument since 1960 until today and really this is the best of The Shadowss treasure in the music contribution.

    51 years????? amazing!!!!

  • If you can play a melody from start to finish without a mistake and with a better feel and tonal quality, song after song after song, live ...... then criticise .... else STFU and admire.... there is / was nobody like Hank Marvin..... kept it simple, sweet, straight and smooth. Now thats some awesome technique ppl should work on.

  • There will never, ever be a instrumental group to rival them NEVER.

  • Solo he escuchado a los tres mejores grupos instrumentales del mundo

    1.- The Shadows (Ingland)

    2.- The Ventures (USA)

    3.- The Belkings (Peru)

  • @cesarcasti Si,unos genios!

  • Hank Marvin, he entertains the audience and himself.

    It's music.I believe.

  • Imagine that they've played these songs like a million times but they're still enjoying the show. That's something remarkable as well as their 5-decades-spanned career alltogether, don't ya think?

  • LISTEN TO THE TONE!

    ITS MAGIC!!!

  • Please put back the song APACHE (From the Final Tour DVD)

  • At 1:27 starts Atlantis, not Apache!

  • This isn't Apache, wtf. Good song though

  • es un show artistico, cruel pero podria ser real.

  • Well said Thorgal20. The electric guitar has many voices and in the hands of a great artist, it sings. Hank is one of many great guitarists who do amazing things in their own separate ways. Jimmy, Eric, Mark, Pete, Eddie Slash Django etc etc. He was the first great English guitarist and his roots were Rock and Roll. I love all music from this to blues, hard rock, jazz and classical. It's all a joy when done well :)

  • classic song

  • STILL AMAZING....AFTER ALL THESE YEARS

  • i still don't get why people think anything is better than uncle ted or skynyrd or even molly hatchet

  • you only have to hear that 1 st note. Its Hank Marvin!

  • I was sad to find out that they retired and I didnt get to one of their concerts...so wonderful guys!! God Bless!!

  • When you see a band with almost all it's members growing white hair, and still managing to draw thousands of people to a concert, you know what music is.

  • Legends of music and they can still do the Shadow walk - Rock on guys

  • Jamás pasará de moda.-Es un clásico irrepetible.

  • I've always loved this beautiful tune! Wonderful video! ********** Thank you for sharing. Monica

  • When I was a kid I hated this band, coz my father was listening them almost every day :) And I was listening only heavy metal and hard rock, and I was pissing on other stuff. But after all these years I finally understood their music, and I found that their music is really interesting and cool. You got to feel this stuff, when you're young you're stupid. Now I'm listening from blues to black metal and there is a space for oldies like The Shadows!

  • @Thorgal20 You dont have to be stupid because you are young. Is just about the music education that you recieve.

Since I was young (and I think that I´m young now) I listen all kind of metal, from death, to the softest style, and jazz, and classic, and blues, pop, rock, instrumental... Any kind of music that make me feel something good and have feelings when sound.

  • @PrAmAtHa Me the same

  • @Thorgal20 I was in the same situation like you, the difference between you and me I have more wider musical taste. : )

  • @Thorgal20

"Now I'm listening from blues to black metal and there is a space for oldies like The Shadows!"

There is always room for The Shadows. From one headbanger to another...

  • @Agnostic72 Yeah but There Was a Time when I didn't like the Shadows, but it was very long time ago when I was a kid. Now I'm listening The Shadows too. Ignorance comes from stupidy- that's what Quorthon from Bathory said once.

  • @Thorgal20

Yep. Right there with you. Back in my Jr. High days I also dissed everything that wasn't Metal, or Hard Rock at the very least, and now as a grown man I realize that I missed a lot of good music. So, I know what you're talking about...

    That said...

    Up the IRONS!! \m/

    *8^)

  • @Agnostic72 I agree totally.

  • @Thorgal20 naa no son apache

  • @Thorgal20 I dunno about that "young and stupid" x)

  • @Thorgal20 Totally agree!

  • QUE BOM FOI RETROCEDER NO TEMPO, ALGUNS GOSTARIAM DE IR AO FUTURO EU ADOREI RECORDAR O TEMPO EM QUE OS SHADOWS E O CLIF NOS DELICIARAM COM OS FILMES COMO MOCIDADE EM FÉRIAS GRATA

  • Remindz me of another place and time:)

  • I was just 10 years old when this track hit the UK charts at number one. I wanted to pick up a guitar and play like Hank Marvin. Im 61 years old now and eventually at the age of 57 I went into a guitar shop and bought myself a Fender (never having played a guitar before) and bought all the books I could on Hanks style. Now I cant shake of the style and I don't want to either.Search YouTube for "Stand By Me by Edward Taber"

  • Alan Jones is not playing bass-guitar here:,(

  • Great Instrumental. Excellent guitar playing.

  • excellent sound and recording.....two thumbs up!

  • i fuckin hate that virgin ad

  • 76 people don't know good music when they here it.

  • still liking the shadows...carry on hank...

  • j"adore!!!!!!!

  • Wow. No more needs to be said.

  • Just great.......I live in Perth Australia and Hank lives in the foothills a few Kilometres away, he is a Jehovah Witness so I wait patiently for him to knock on my door....Then I'll bring out the Strat sit down act like I'm and reading his pamphlets while he plays for me:-)

  • Class all the way!

  • sehr gut!

  • Thank you for this upload!

  • Hank the great

  • Lovely clean tone sound (as always) - think they are still touring despite the "Final Tour" label on DVD. I'm sure they played in Adelaide quite recently.

  • WOW!!!!!

  • Thanks for the beautiful song.

    You all play well

And most important, and that makes the difference

is the maturity of age, that even more beautiful .. ..

I thank God for being able to hear music played so well ..

  • Legends alive~

  • i wonder of hank has that look on his face when he's using his other instrument on his missus

  • with all the class in the world thats Hank B Marvin

  • they make it look easy, especially Hank !..Oh I wish ?...Thanks for sharing ;)

  • now this is what i call music that anyone can listen to

  • que grupazo los shadows!! y apache esta guapisima!! con este grupo empeze yo a tocar, y precisamente con apache... estoy pensando en comprarme una fender strato roja jeje!!

  • 72 idiots

    awsome :))

  • I can say alot about this..

But there's only one word that will fit..

    AWESOME

  • The first concert I ever went to was Cliff Richard and The Shadows at Croydon ABC in 1963. The Shadows blew me away. They were great then and they are great now.

  • And we will still be commenting when this is being played 50 years from now it does'nt get old it does'nt get boring its just class

  • proves beyond all doubt that hank marvin is the antichrist

  • Yea me too! Wish they would do one more tour here in Texas!!

  • I personally liked the original (Ventures) version better, but this isn't bad.

  • unforgettable a song

  • best version ever......

  • their choreography never gets old

  • UK guitar treasure

  • R.I.P Jet

  • siete grandissimi!!

    che goduria il vox microfonato!!!

  • Jet Harris the Bass Guitarist passed away...

  • Jet Harris the Bass Guitarist passed away...

  • Apache was the first ever vinyl 45rpm single I bought. The definitive sound of the sixties for non vocals. The Shadows - simply the best. Foot note:Cliff Richard fired Bruce Welsh after he relaunched Cliff's career - that's a really Christian thing to have done.

  • Hank B MARVIN : le meilleur guitariste au monde sans nul doute...

  • Sorry Guitarman1146 yes Nokie is a great player but not a patch on Hank! Of course it's my opinion and yours is yours....I'm sure Hank appreciates and rates Nokie and vice versa but The Shads were the masters and made the Strat the best guitar for instrumentals. Yes again just my opinion.....The Shads have a proper show and the dance steps are hard to do when you're trying to play like Hank! Both are great acts but The Shads takes the biscuit!! :-)

  • I saw the ungrateful comment - Let's not compare the sound and impact the Shadows have had on popular music. The Ventures are great.... Shadows superb... don't use ten notes when one is just right... and of course.. THAT sound!

  • rumour has it that hank fell from the software engineering team in the sky into a chip shop in hull... from there it is all history

  • it's a great dvd.

  • good good good

  • IMHO, Hank is an amateur next to Nokie Edwards of the Ventures. So many little extra lines in between the main melody parts that really dress up the song(s) is what Nokie can do that Hank doesn't. Hank leaves holes all over the place that make everything he plays sound empty an dull. Their arrangements and boring performance leave a lot to be desired. Guitar Master is Nokie Edwards, not Hank.

  • They are greatest !!

Greetings from Fiesta Red - the Heidelberg Shadows

  • wo sind denn jetzt zu dieser genialen musik die mädels ??

  • Einfach super.Wir haben toll danach getanzt

  • this song is sooooo spaceeeeee love it!!!

  • now that is wat you call playing the guitar not like some of todays music

  • Ils ne seront jamais dépassés ! éternels SHADOWS... au-dessus de tout...

    L'élite de l'élite !!!

  • [iminent=5ifYA7YVffOB] inégalable bravo et merci aux shadows pour leur chef d'oeuvre

  • Great sound! Played this song in Thurso Scotland back in the 60'S.

  • You like it ???

    Thumps Up !!!

  • @Degman1000 you suck men ..

  • Great song, no doubt about that. But surely the silly dance steps should have been left back in the sixties.

  • The Shadows is and will be one of the best instrumental bands in the world, their classic sound is as distinctive as each of its members, this video is a magnificent example of musical expressiveness, and despite years remain with a solid base. Excellent video, and my greatest respect for his music. Formidable. Thanks eaglerocktv.

  • First heard this tune in 1961 in the Yorkshire moors and it blew me away. Hank hasn't lost his touch.

  • Hank Marvin, Guitar master!!!!

  • @MyGabriel70 Guitar Master!? You need to hear more guitar players mate. I could name a hundreds players better than Hank.

  • There are players who are more technically proficient than Hank Marvin, but he was a true innovator and very good musician. For an above average guitarist he did pretty well to have a 52 year career with 69 chart hits. A combination of musical instinct, a unique sound, good packaging and solid talent gave us some of the best music of the last half century. Play on, Hank.

  • @Foglauncher YES what you say is correct, but there are the first guys who show others what you can do with a guitar, how to do a gerat show, how to dress etc, here we always have to thank the shadows, beatles ,and The KING ELVIS showing the the way to the rest .Hope the generations to come remember these legends.

  • @Foglauncher Right on in there! Hank you're up there as the best.

  • @TUUK2006 ..and about 90 of your 100 (assuming they're real musicians and not just brainless, technical speedfreaks) would recognize Hank's talent and consider his contribution to music, and the guitar as an instrument, as very significant. Would you disagree with them?

  • Just watch at his face, so happy while playing guitar!

  • @dwulat1 Do you really think so? I am sure so.

Simple music, but this tune encourgaed so many to take up music. Some even became successful & famous. Not so me.

  • and John Rostill?

  • they're old motherfuckers

  • hank marvin looks the same as in the 60's! the dosent age!!

  • the shadows live forever..they are legend

  • pure class x x

  • This song was number one the day I was born. They are terrific live,I've seen them countless times now,one of my all time favourite groups.

  • That choreography is just hilarious. So stiff! But hey, what the f**k did you expect? This is not a freakin' pussycat dolls. This is The Shadows.

  • have a listen to a nice song called, " IN YOUR MIND " by andrew gerbasi, i think you will enjoy !!!

  • all the musicians in the world today are standing in their shadows!!!!

  • how can 63 not like this music, morons great vid . thank you

  • Like this? How could you not like Hank?

This IS the all time greatest.

  • Great tone & arrangement ... you can do all the comparisons you want to the Ventures but the original artist who recorded this song; Jorgen Ingman still rules (RIP) many of the slides Ingman used were replaced by open notes here ... also missing were the faux arrow sounds

  • Final Tour???? Why didn't I hear of this??? No more concerts? I need to see them in person!

  • @iappreciategoodmusic sir,,bcoz u always keep watching justin baby bieber that's why u never heard them.hahaha.

  • great to watch true artists at work

  • After all these years still fresh and the best.

  • there will ever be a final tour as long as someone can play these tunes

  • Anyone can play a guitar, only legends like these guys can make them 'sing'

  • It's one of my father's favourite. I love it too, so I'll try to learn it on my mandolin ;)

  • its wonderfull and verry easy to play '_'

  • i`loving that musik,wonderfull

  • Nice tune. Still going strong, but so boring
