  • Why does char cloth sound like a character from some movie? charcloth to base, can you read me?

  • char cloth is great, the best ive used so far was made from lampwick. its cheap and has a nice thickness to it that makes blowing the flame up super easy.

  • i used aluminum foil and just uploaded a video its pretty good. your way works great too

  • Just made this out of an Altoids can, some rubbing alcohol, and half of a soda can. Thank you KipKay!

  • remember guys use small nuts

  • so its essentially charcoal but with cotton instead of wood?

  • or you could just use a lighter!!!

  • CHARCLOTH, I CHOOSE YOU!!

  • wasnt the cloth black to begin with?

  • @SuperTjwang now that you say it.........

  • Projects Watched: ALL

    Projects Made: 0

  • Or use the lighter you had and light it :P

  • Excellent! Thank You!

  • umm why use cotton things if u have at you that swedish rock

  • @grimpis1 You need something that can catch a spark easily, some dry grass isn't going to cut it. It doesn't light easily.

  • 0:51 to skip to the video

  • who watches the video but never tryes it themselves

  • my way's so easier

check out the vid on my channel

  • thanks,was really useful

  • I wish kipkay was my uncle.

  • I wonder what his house looks like? xD

  • 85 peoples cloth would not char lol

  • U could even use a dead lighter to spark this stuff up. Plus Cattail fluff can also be used to make char cloth.

  • i had to do this at camp all we did was light a cloth then put it under a cup and stepped on the cup

  • That cooking fuel is so inefficient, I hate it

  • Sterno the fuel of champions!

  • do you think you can make a vid on how to make the spark steel thing plz

  • @HAZORD505 He bought that. Sorry. It's called a Firesteel.

  • 84 people have "small nuts"

  • I just put the container in coals, also I use a nail instead of a drill. You over complicated the process.

  • i love emma

  • now thats how Bear Grills lights his fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 8=D look below

  • @TheShooter12321 So Mature...

  • lol ''small nuts'' at 1:42

  • sweden rocks

  • Mix this and your condom fire-lighter, you get a flint and tinder xD

  • lol at 1:43 he says small nuts XD. once again immaturity has struck my mind :P

  • i dont have any old tshirts...

  • so to create fire, you need fire

  • o snap kipkay going outdoors now

  • daca tot ai cremene puteai sa dai foc direct la paie

  • @geonylove =)) corect

  • camping with kipkay. damn that would be one good weekend xD

  • hgshsdrrjtjrehrehwegwrjdtjkt

  • @laksemann i agree

  • @Weck1one jøø

  • not the kind of grass i want

  • Can't you just use lint lol

  • @sk1erboy it works but not as well

  • If you have the fire starter and some tinder, wouldn't it just be easier to light the tinder on fire?

  • Wait, isn't this the same buttfuck from the kipkay videos?

  • @chicago6584 wait your calling kipkay a buttfuck if thats true then fuck you dood your stupid dumbass is no were near as smart as kipkay... dam your like a fuckng 2 year old hes a dam genius and your a retarded hater that spends his time raping other videos !!!!! besides i bet kipkay gets 50 million more views then your gay ass bitch channel does :D ha you stupid fucker

  • So you basically need to carry the stuff with you plus the flint, or make it using a lighter. Why not just carry the lighter?

  • to make char cloth it helps if u use whit cotton materal its easyer to tell when its done

  • o my god i cut my new t-shairt

  • or just take the lighter and make a fire easly.....

  • You don't haft to use char cloth you can just use a paper towel.

  • My life goal is the meet KipKay.

  • @BFCRed same here that would be awesome to meet the genius behind these vids

  • @BFCRed mine too...

  • @BFCRed (

AND STEAL ALL OF HIS STUFF)

  • @BFCRed shitty life goal

  • @oliball123 Eat my shit.

  • @oliball123 have fun!

  • @oliball123 hows it taste?

  • @SleekandSmooth like shit

  • @oliball123 lol

  • y didnt you just spark into the grass

  • @ballzinacan01 char cloth burns faster than the grass

  • why not just light the t-shirt?

  • @handyx5 Char cloth is slightly more flammable. The cotton chain is weaker so the flash point is lower.

  • Lifehacker <3

  • Nice vid kip, but please learn how to correctly use firesteel. you may end up knocking your tinder far away if you move your striker instead of your steel.

would hate to see your house catch fire.

  • step 1 soak rags in gas

    step 2 profit

  • I Hate How He Says "Very"

  • 1:42 thats what she said

  • why dont you just use a lighter because thats the same thing as bringin this charcloth your still bringin something to ignite the fire instead of using two rocks

  • Thumbs up if at the beginning of one of kipkays videos you say wow that's so cool i'm going to make that it looks simple then bye the end of the video your like screw it i'm just going to watch another kipkay video

  • already thump up

  • You know, id just use the cooking fuel to cook with instead of a piece of old shirt...

  • small nuts lol

  • Smoke is mostly unburned products of combustion. The cloth material actually does not burn. The heat from the sterno causes the cloth (or wood in a campfire) to decompose and forms a gas. The gas is what actually burns. The gas that doesn't burn completely is what you call smoke. The blacker the smoke the more fuel it has. White smoke has little fuel (high amount of water vapor). The largest component is usually Carbon Monoxide (CO).

  • What? You are gonna use small nuts? Why don't you use big nuts....

  • when i saw this is said yay. somthing i know how to make

  • how the fuck does smoke ignite?

  • @amar23716 when stuff burns it releases gases that burn the smoke coming out of the top i assume is a concentrated form of that

  • haha small nuts ha

  • you need fire to make fire .... :O

  • @tutobedoya ur supposed to make it prior to ur trip

  • Because nothing says rustic like using cooking fuel, a drill, or a lighter to make your "rustic" camping materials. As much as I love Kipkays videos I still had to say it

  • heat ========= napam is that hot for it

  • can i use big nuts?

  • y does he always use an altoids can?

  • very interesting, thanks!

  • Umm.. Just watch Bear Grylls???

  • i known how to make it 4 a long time but i wached it

  • @hondaktm100 hahaha im going to do this one but other than that i dont do his projects P.S you should check out my channel i have flint and steel on there

  • @hondaktm100 cant afford it lol

  • @hondaktm100 i just thumbs up but i did some of the projects

  • @hondaktm100 lol i made one of em'

  • @hondaktm100 some times you don"t have the supplies or money to do them

  • @joel13245768 i know that and the fact that im a kid is why i can't

  • @hondaktm100 thumbs down.

  • @hondaktm100 kipkay is very awesome :D

  • can i use something diferent, can i use regular fire to make it, or it has to be cooking fuel

  • people that do it like this cant afford lighter fluid

  • @kowdie12 its not about affording lighter fluid, its for ppl who choose to go for survival camping using survival tools.

  • it was a black t shirt lol

  • REMEMBERS ME OF THE T SZGIRT LAUNCHER

  • if you don't have a metal candy tin you can wrap your cloth in tinfoil with a whole in the top

  • Just use the sterno, man!

  • OR you could use flint and steel :P

  • @Xythe43 you got that from minecraft

  • @jennifer401000 Nah flint and steel is one of the oldest ways to make fire, think that was discovered before the friction method.

  • No camping PLZ

  • Good tutorial. Thanks

  • Use that fire starter u r using

  • so how is this more rustic than using a lighter?

  • Just bring the fucking cooking fuel to the camping trip...

  • i like how at the end he just burns the reast of the char cloth even though he said he needed it at the beggining

  • waw cool or just bey a lighter

  • Does it have to b a black shirt?

  • @rbmx222

no, just need to be 100% cotton

  • Hey Kipkay...How did your friend myake the swedish firesteel for you???

  • Sounds like a pokemon. Charcloth GO!!!!

  • @7Zbeast12 charmander + claifary + venemoth?

  • @7Zbeast12 dibs

  • @7Zbeast12 I read this before watching the video, every time he said Charcloth, I laughed.

  • @7Zbeast12 Grow up

  • @meilute03 yet he has 162 thumbs up and you have 1 thumb down

  • what good is freakin char cloth?

  • @kyjarhead12 Char cloth, once ignited, stays lit on the material until it's been burned through or pressed out with your fingers. Sparking onto the dry grass is very tough because the sparks flying into the grass usually bounce around and don't make contact with the grass long enough to ignite. Lighting the char cloth will allow the grass, pine needles, wood shavings, or other kindling to ignite. It's much more efficient for being out in the woods with little supplies.

  • or you could use metal grade steel woll and a 9 volt battery

  • @SAMSIZZLE123 say WHAAAAAT?

  • Yep go through all that when you could bring a lighter

  • i love kipkay

  • understanding kipka. am 12 years old kipkay and love science and building stuff with my hands.

  • @MRTHORPE718 Never forget what you like and dream, because there is a girl out there that will make you forget everything, except her, all to tear your heart out. :(

  • understant kipka. am 12 years old kipkay and love science and building stuff with my hands.

  • @footballguy146

that could work, but the char cloth catches, keeps and spreads the spark much longer making it the ideal firestarter

  • 66 people use a lighter

  • ima make some just in case if shit ever happens

  • thumbs up ALTOIDS ADDICTS!!!!!

  • I got my shirt on fire so i had to take it off

  • Firesteel generates over 3000 celsius. It's enought to ignite mostly anything. Thats why we made them.

  • rub a 9v battery with steel wool :P

  • or just use the lighter fuel you BOUGHT

  • thanx kipkay thats cool your freand david :}

  • You have 1:42 .

  • Comment removed

  • pfft who is this guy lighter fluid lol we just use soe newspaper and half a bottle of white spirit (paint thinner) works just fine for us hehe

  • I believe you can achieve the same result with denim in an oven.

  • 66 people freeze to death

  • what was that fire staring tool???

  • Altoid tins are like multi tools you can use them for everything

  • 1:42-1:44

  • haha "i had to use some small nuts"

  • You use altoid cans a lot

  • in sweden we call it sverige

  • Comment removed

  • Get a book what you don't need and fire it up! Don't give money for that stupid shit.

  • Comment removed

  • Woah #EPIC #FAIL

  • Birch Bark, the best!

  • just fart on a couble piece of woods and that should do it

  • Hahaha

  • i use the technique of the caveman..... waiting for a thunderstorm to strike on a log...

  • its easier to make the sparks if you pull the steel back because the stricker can put it out if you strike too hard and hit it :)

  • so you remember to take your Char Cloth with you to woods but you forget to take your lighter with you

  • show us how to make a FUCKING FLAMING DRAGON SWORD

  • That was a cool thing
